sweet escape
relaxing and peaceful resort, healthy lifestyle, limited number of guests
8.7
My trip to six senses con dao was a 2 days 1 night stay. The price for the hotel (on agoda) was still quite expensive considering that theres still so much more to pay for once in the resort (meals, spa, activities, airport transfer). Wish they wouldve at least included a complimentary 30 minute massage and free airport transfer. Staying longer will only add more expenses... so a big budget is a must!
The resort revolves around an environmentally friendly approach. It is a great sight to see coming from the concrete jungle. If rest and relaxation is what you're looking for, then you've come to the right place.
My only problem would be that their window shades are far too complicated to use. I wish they would simplify things. less ropes hanging around the room and less effort to be exerted when pulling up or letting down the window shades. some were even jammed so my bathroom privacy was compromised.
Do not use their insect repellant as it has little or no effect. i got bitten twice somewhere in the beach i think. the bites just appeared out of the blue and boy were they big and absolutely itchy. so MUST BRING YOUR OWN effective repellant.
Their airport has no airconditioning unit and a few windows that are open. so either you bring a fan or dont come too early.
The resort assigned someone to accompany us to the airport and did the check in for us. (excellent service until the airport)

Beautiful ocean villa. Best place to chill out.
Villa was lovely, romantic, and beautiful with nice ocean view.
8.7
Location is nice and villa is so romantic that honeymoon couple would enjoy their stay.
However, their service was not as good as I had expected. We were disappointed that our room butler was not responsible enough for the guests; the last day of our stay, we had to leave the hotel early in the morning due to the early flight. The day before the last, we asked him to arrange the shuttle bus to the airport and the butler said he would come to our room in order to pick up the luggage at 6:00am. However, he did not show up and a buggy did not come to pick us up; we waited in the room until 6:10am but ended up carrying our luggage to the reception taking 5 mins on foot. At the reception he showed up but did not say any apologies. He neither told us about the shuttle bus fee in advance so that we misunderstood it would be free, or already included in the hotel accommodation fee (actually, it was $40. If we had known, we would have called a taxi...)
He also charged us some extra fees, which was actually already included in the accommodation fee. When we pointed it out, he gave us an excuse and was persistent. It was disappointing.

Stunning, secluded, great food and service
Long deserted beach, villas, food
9.7
We stayed one week in an ocean view villa. Despite off and on cloudy weather we had a spectacular time. The villa itself is lovely: beautiful wood, comfortable bed, two bathrooms, many lounge spots and a pool. We especially loved the privacy of this type of villa versus beachfront. Food in every restaurant is delicious, particularly the gluttonous breakfast buffet and the barbeque. We were quite impressed with the attentive yet respectful of privacy. We also enjoyed the spa, which is similar to the rest of the resort: peaceful, natural and welcoming.

Food, drink and entertainment
Six Senses Spas Six Senses Spas are world renowned. Our spa at Con Dao is one of the finest in Vietnam. Set amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Lo Voi Mountain and surrounded by tropical gardens, it offers four indoor treatment rooms, one Thai therapy room, three outdoor treatment salas, a Yoga and Meditation pavilion, a Juice Bar and changing facilities.
The Market Area The market area offers a small village complete with a main street and square resembling a typical village found in the Vietnamese country side. The traditional houses compromise of the Six Senses Gallery, an activity centre - LIFE, a meeting room and a library. Terraces between the library and main bar allow guests to enjoy the beach views whilst experiencing the unique food and drinks on offer. Movies at the Market are screened here too.
Bar by the Market The heart of any home is the kitchen. The heart of Six Senses Con Dao is its Vietnamese kitchen, known as Vietnamese by the Market. Ms Len and her team cook authentic delicacies over charcoal flamed woks or in wood-fired ovens. Noodles, rice, soups, rolls and wraps to order. The best ‘street’ food you’ve ever tasted. If you want to learn the skills, we hold daily cooking classes.
By the Beach Restaurant The main restaurant with panoramic ocean views and gentle sea breezes. Offering locally caught seafood, fruit, vegetables and herbs bursting with flavour. Chef Richard Lee takes traditional Vietnamese recipes and adds his own twist. Let’s call it Asian fusion with a hint of colonial French. Dinner, overlooking the moonlit sea, offers daily specials of delicately flavoured, beautifully cooked dishes.
