Spacious, comfortable residence in the middle of woods with a great view of the city, wonderful food although a bit pricy, beautiful flowers in the garden, fireplace to roast marshmallows, and free yoga sessions in the morning.
A bit out of the way for those who would love to explore the city all the time. And for those who like brandnew rooms with lots of modern facilities this rustic and beautifully restored French villa is not great, perhaps?
We had a great time at the resort. We traveled with a four year old, and loved walking through the woods, picking pinecones and flowers, swimming in the heated pool, and great foods. We took a trip to explore the market, pick strawberries and coffee beans, and try some local delicacies. My hudband tried a mountain bike trip and loved it. ALthough it was quite hot during the day, it got a bit chilly at night and the fire place lit by our butler was quite nice.

* Trees block out some of the city sound
* Private villas great for R&R
* Vietnam is still a country of early risers and construction work
* The sprawling estate requires a bit of walking to get to the pool, reception, restaurant, etc.
Had a great stay over Christmas weekend. A well-stocked fireplace and we were set for the whole time there. I burned my finger because the staff were putting serving plates too close to an open flame but they (and the GM) were quick with the aloe from around the estate and did as much as they could for me. We'd still consider going back there for another trip.

The villa concept was lovely. It was set up to cater to your every whim and need and nothing was too much trouble. It was close to perfect.
The layout of the property might be an issue for those who have mobility problems since it is up and down hill. It probably would not be an ideal location for families - more a grown-ups kind of place.
You know it's luxury when you have the choice of around a dozen different types of pillow to chose from and three kinds of duvet filling! Staff appeared to respond to your needs before you'd even thought of them. The breakfast buffet was great, though some of the western style items on the dinner menu were a little disappointing - probably just a chef cooking outwith his comfort zone - the Asian stuff was lovely. It was great to have a shuttle running to and from the property, since it was a little out of the center of town, although there only seem to be two per day. This would be a great place to go with a group of friends since you could effectively take over a whole villa as if it were a house. The atmosphere of the villas is a bit of "Vermont meets Vietnam" in terms of construction. The surrounding scenery is another reason for choosing the hotel over something in the town itself. A lovely experience!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hotel does do trips to the surrounding countryside, but they are set up and priced to suit groups, so I took an Easy Rider motorbike trip instead and can thoroughly recommend the company - just make sure you get the real thing - there are lots of "look alike" functioning in the area who will hustle you in town and are sometimes even more expensive.
