In general I feel good to staying this hotel as their elegant design, nice service and good location. However the room is a bit small especially if you go with baby. Moreover I prefer they have carpet on floor as the weather of Dalat is cold. I advise people should come at low season to have the better room and service.

French-Vietnamese ambience for a cheap price

we recommend this hotel. we stayed in the superior room (bigger than standard) on the thrrd floor which still only cost a night! the hotel itself has an olde worlde 1930s art deco feel. there is a an fashioned lift with a steel gate taking you to your floor from the lobby. we didn't book with hotel breakfast as that could be had in a number places seperately and cheaply at one's leisure. there are anti=mosquito devisces in each room, though we didn't notice ant mozzies, perhaps as it was a the cool season. we left the windows open during the day. hotel du parc guests are also able to use the facilities / restaurants at the nearby dalat palace, which is an exceptionally swank place at over $200 a night. by comparison, we found the hotel du parc to be perfectly adequate.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Must see: Bao Dai's Summer palace No. 3. Also drop into the nearby "crazy house" for a laugh. The Dalat Central market is amazing. Do drink the Dalat wine while you are there. The best red is the Vang Dalat APEC Cab Sauv - Merlot. There is also an export quality white available. Go to L'Ang Farm foods by the main steps at the market to buy wine and coffee and packets of dried fruits.

the staff were wonderful and sadly dont get paid extra for working tet, the only staff i spoke to throughout vietnam that don't.
loved the shower and bed, but hated the fridge(s) which aparently were not broken or not working properly but that is the way the hotel wants them to be, just cool..
can't have a cold drink without bringing ice up to your room and replacing hot drinks into the poor little bowl. even the bar couldn't cool my drinks for me as their fridge was also only set to cool, not make cold. how pathetic is that!!!!! specially for an aussie who likes cold beer etc.
otherwise it was a very nice hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
Dont' go to the restaurant on the lake just below the hotel .. worst food, drinks and service ever... they brought out someone elses bill already stamped paid on it.. i ended up having to write out my own bill.
try the peace cafe.. fun owner and food was quite good. drinks cold and very entertaining evening.

The hotel is quite nice, had an old school French elevator which kept me fascinated during my stay. The hotel is a bit out of the city, can walk within 15mins though. But I would probably stay somewhere in the city centre if I was to return to Dalat. One thing that amused me some what was that there were normally 3 doormen/luggage porters waiting around the entrance but wouldn't open the door for you. Kind of strange as this was suppose to be some sort of prestigious French hotel. Overall it was a nice stay, but as I said before, I would pick a place closer to the centre of the city.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you was a nice day trip, I suggest Lang Bian mountain, it's probably a standard mountain walk but it's still nice to get out of the city if you're tired of beeping scooters (mind you, jeeps that go up and down the mountain still beep at you)

the du parc is a modern hotel with some colonial features like the old elevator and high ceilings. the location is good, though not directly at the city center, "downtown" da lat is in walkable distance (5-10 min).
the hotel offers a nice billards-room with some computers. the bar is overpriced for vietnamese conditions, but one or two beers during happy hour fit on a relaxed game. so is breakfast, just go down the street and enjoy breakfast in one of the vietnamese cafes.

Lovely heritage hotel

we had a great stay at this sensitively-restored heritage hotel in da lat - a nice contrast from the ugly/noisy surroundings. it is particularly good value in the off-season, when we paid motel 6 prices for our 4-star room. can't complain.
