Only stayed on night before proceeding to Halong Bay for cruise. My Girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay. Was quite empty though. Felt like we owned the place.

Shocking 4 star! Don't be deceive by this 1.5 Star

This is a shocking 4 star, twice the price of a 3 star hotel in Hanoi, you would expect a least a better service or a better room. Got neither. No one even offer to take the luggage up to the room. Shocking the room still has a 20" CRT TV, this day and age and considering a 4 star hotel, I would not expect anything less than a LCD. The TV is useless you really cannot watch anything, the pictures were so grainy. Room is heavily odored with smoke. Bathroom lacks ventilation. Twice the price by really 1/3 the quality compared to a 3 star hotel in Hanoi. As for the service, really this is self-served. Perhaps ok for travel just needing a bed to sleep at a high price, otherwise not recommended for any enjoyment.
Restaurant Tip:
Great seafood restaurant just across the road from the hotel.

it was a good stay at the hotel. we like the location, rooms are big, clean and well-kept. the only disadvantage was that there was no safety-deposit box in the room which made our stay a little bit worrysome. breakfast was not bad at all for vietnam. in the whole the food was satisfactory. one big problem was hot water - you had to run the tab for 10-15 minutes before taling the shower for the water to be warm at least.

It was our second stay in the hotel. We liked it due to its location as we had to go to Hai Phong Port every day. We were quite satisfied with almost everything - rooms, service, food. The other thing which attracted us was the swimming pool - though small,it was quite refreshing after a busy hot day - till the last day of our stay... when my husband slept on the stairs (tiled with sharp edges) and broke his rib. There was no precaution sign or any kind of warning there! We had no time to make a claim or something as we had to rush to the airport to catch the flight...

It was the second time I stayed in Haiphong overnight. My first experience was bad (hotel booked ). I decided to manage by myself. Rooms are simple but OK for overnight stay. Restaurant is questionable. As I stayed only one night I could bear it.

Top floor restaurant for breakfast

Had two nights here,new and clean room with a good shower and comfortable bed We found this city to be really friendly and laid back. Plenty of local street places to eat the one nearest hotel has many tables and chefs dressed in whites,had a great time here chatting to the locals. One road before you get to supermarket turn right there is a great cafe strip there. Fantastic hotel with outstanding service
