In general it is fine to stay on this boat as their staff were very friendly and good service. However, the cabin and the food were just standard. The sundeck and restaurant area need to be renovated.

There is. So many cruises on the bay offering exactly the same tour. So just look at the cost n go with the cheapest as they all the same

Brilliant Surprise!

I booked the Paloma and accidently booked for one person not two but they were brilliant to deal with (has to pay for pax two) and they also helped us with the transfers which weren't in the original offer.
Our guide was a man called Star who was brilliant and gave us enough history of the origin without going on for too long. We were far from packed out and in honesty didn't have the perfect floating party (we didn’t want families but there was only one) however, we had an absolute blast!
The food was good, the boat itself was gorgeous and the room/showers were the best we experienced across our trip. For us with a one week schedule for Vietnam we found the time in Halong of one night was perfect for us.
We also were drinking quite a bit and unlike other reviews the prices were local charge not western as I had read on my search.
I highly recommend Paloma to any couple looking – we didn’t have to worry about anything. I will advise though bring paper for the looong bus ride and if you can avoid the toilet on the journey than do, a little bit confronting with the smells (not an issue on board at all!!)

We cruised on Paloma and had an amazing time in this boat! It is most definatly one of the nicest boats to cruise on in Halong and everything from the pick up at the hotel to the service in board I cannot fault. It was my birthday while we were on the cruise and the staff organised a cake and flowers for me that night which was very lovely. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Paloma to see the best of halong bay

The only negative thing about the cruise is the lack of privacy as the boat only sleeps about 30-40 people you are with the same people all the time.
