This hotel rooms are huge and clean. A very typical four star hotel in Asia. Located slightly off from the cruise boarding point in Halong. But good localised restaurants are just a 10 - 15 min walk away.
Comes with free Wifi but speed slightly on the slow side. Buffet breakfast is just sufficient, with the normal fair.
We stayed 2 nights in Halong, and took a one day cruise to the bay. The days spent was just nice and relaxing for us. Any more days, might be pushing it as there were not much more to do - at least for me.

I am travelling with families and stay only 1 night there. the hotel is clean, but a little bit old, and some of the rooms has some bad smell. overall, the room is large, and with good view, and breakfast is good. location also good, can walk to the night market. it worth the price.

Great way to base yourself in Halong City before heading out to Halong Bay and Cat Ba Island. The hotel will organise an overnight trip on a wonderful junk boat Syrena. Which I would highly recommend to any traveller. The food, service and sights on the boat where a highlight.
Restaurant Tip:
Be sure to eat in at the Halong Plaza Hotel. The buffet was amazing

I must say I'm quite disappointed with the customer service for this hotel. I asked the staff at the reception to provide an address for a place, and the lady replied with " Unfortunately I'm not able to find it, you can use your wi-fi access to find it."
Overall the hotel is average and location is a bit further away from the centre.

i found this hotel one of the best for the price i have ever stayed in, the breakfast was just wonderfull large selections of fresh vietnamese food, a truly great stay

Too many Korean and Chinese tourist...always ruin

Good to stay here when not too many korean and chinese SEAFOOD addicted visitors are present. Hotel is fine, but price attracts other asian tourists who can make your day loud and rude.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Stay at Novotel, avoid the Star City hotel always. Ive come here 23 times, trust me.

Far from market, unless you have anything booked its boring. Hotel has too many chinese visitors. Not really relaxing. Buffet is terrible.
