Cheap but very good quality.
We stayed in the hotel from Dec. 20, to Dec. 22, 2008. There is main building and Villa. When we booked the hotel, we could only see the picture of main building. When we checked in the Villa, we thought it's even better! We enjoyed very much of the hotel.

Centrally located, room in Villa was a nice size, breakfast buffet, staff polite and helpful.
Not much charm or character.
Very hard mattresses.
No internet in Villas.
It's a hotel that everyone knows - lots of groups coming through. The Villas are behind the hotel and are converted apartments from construction days. The rooms were fine - good size - and well maintained. They have a triple room which has two bedrooms - one double and the other twin beds - for a very good price. No internet in Villas. Staff polite and helpful. Buffet breakfast was a bit minimalist but food was fresh.

staff, picture window in room overlooking the bay, large room
The staff were marvelous. We booked a car to Hanoi airport from here before we went on a 2 night cruise on Halong Bay on the Jasmine (definitely recommended). We left laundry and one suitecase at the hotel and they sent the laundry, suitcase and driver to pick us up and go on to the airport without going back to the hotel. The hotel was quiet so they upgraded us so we could have a room with a view over the water.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A 2 night 3 day cruise on the Jasmine (sister ship the Ginger) was wonderful. Expensive but definitely worth the money. Food was excellent. Exceeded our expectations.

Nice room beside the Halong beach.
A little smell from the humid, but ok when you open the windows.
We have 2 nights here at the villa beside the main building. Hotel staff are very nice. But no more thing to do in Halong except tour around Halong bay.
Nightlife Tip : Walk along the beach, another thing you can do in Halong.

At arrival free upgrade to suite. Balcony with sea view (halong bay). Friendly staff and good location to take halong bay boat trip. Breakfast buffet large choice. Rooms clean and good condition.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Organise boat trip to halong bay at the wharf !! Much cheaper than any travel agent and certainly the one at the hotel.
