the staff were friendly and very helpful, and provided good advices on sightseeing in hanoi and the area around.
we booked a standard room but where upgraded to a deluxe room on arrival without extra charge and for our birthday the hotel gave us flowers.
while walking around in hanoi we had our mobile stolen and the hotel were extremely helpful and went several times to the police station together with us in order to get a police report.

One of the best hotels i have stayed in with computer available in each room (a necessity in today's digital age). Staff are courteous, helpful and nice especially the general director. Standard room is small but acceptable. Cleanliness and hygiene of hotel rooms and dining area is generally good but still has room for improvement. Doors to the rooms and toilets are not working very well. Had slight difficulty locking/unlocking, opening/closing the doors.
Shopping Tip:
Night market on weekends just walking distance from the hotel is a great way to feel the Vietnamese way of life.

The staff where friendly and a good location we had to move rooms after the first night ,as some one had requested the room that we were in we agreed ,but they then put us in a smaller room. there were cockroaches in room, but that did not worry us to much. we booked our tours with this hotel and were supposed to have booked transport from airport/train stations provided. twice we were left stranded, and had to pay again for transport as they would not refund the money already payed

This is my favorite hotel. The staff persons are great, always smiling, and helpful--almost like family. The accommodations are nice, clean and the bathroom is modern, the AC cool, the food excellent. I had to move mid-way through my stay because of a booking problem, but I immediately requested another week at Asia Palace 2. For convenience, Asia Palace 2 can't be beat: it's around the corner from the lake, but not directly in the tourist route so it's not as noisy and packed. Plus, there's a modern-type super-market down the street on Ly Thai To (which is the same as Nguyen Huu Huan), if you're staying long-term on business. The next time I'm in Hanoi, whether for business or pleasure, I'll be sure to stay at Asia Palace 2, where you're treated like family! The staff greeted my by name, like family, and helped me in numerous ways. You shoudl definitely stay here. The only question is, do you deserve it? Well, do you?
Restaurant Tip:
Great location for super-cheap eats frequented by locals. Authentic and cheap. Delicious!

hotel staff are really helpful and courteous. hotel is conveniently located within the old quarter. however, the standard room is a little small but acceptable. the chef in the dining room is also a plus point but the variety of food can be better.
Shopping Tip:
The hotel is located within the old quarter which is of close proximity to the main shopping streets and the weekend night market.

Don't miss trying to ride on cyclo, a unique transportation in old quarters area.

I regretted not staying at this hotel longer. Apart from the good location, the staff are really nice and most of them speak very good English. They gave us very good advice on where to travel, for meals, common scams of the undesirable few locals, etc
They upgraded our rooms from standard to deluxe on our first night although we only paid the "standard room" rate.
The rooms are definitely value for money. The rooms are new, beautifully furnished and very comfortable to stay in. Breakfast is fine too, with local pho to western bacon and sausages.
