Old quarter hotel close to the lake and night mark
The service is the best we have experienced, nothing is too much trouble, great value.

We stayed two nights and the staff have been fantastic in organising train travel, tours and stays at other hotels and tourist advice generally. They stored bags for us and put us up in a related hotel when we returned early from Halong Bay when they were full. We will be back there in a few days following a trip to Sapa where they have arranged train travel, transfer and hotel stay.
This hotel is great value.

A fantastic experience with terrific female cook
Ben at front desk; lady in charge of dining room; housekeeping staff

It was an unexpected delightful experience. In 2005 I stayed at the 5 star Melia and this time at a small family hotel. Everything exceeded our expectations starting with Ben at the front desk. Great laundry service; terrific housekeeping staff, and wonderful young female cook who sings while working in the kitchen.

Value for money
Location, Price, Friendly & helpful staff
8.7
We checked in later in the evening for 1 night before heading the Halong Bay the next morning. Staff were friendly and helpful even though it was quite late. The room was excellent for the price we paid. Large king size bed with good quality linen, clean modern bathroom and in room computer with Internet access as well as fast wifi connection. The room didn't have a window, but that didn't bother me. Breakfast was good, with omelettes, eggs and pho freshly cooked and available, good selection of fruits, pastries and a few hot options. Close to local cares and restaurants, with a convince store just down the street. Very happy with our stay and will recommend to others. See you next time we are in Hanoi!

The hotel is very close to the old town and well maintained. We booked a family room and it's on the second floor right above the kicthen. We heard some noise during morning while the staff in the kicthen was preparing food. There's no window in the room with outsite view, and the room sometimes has some old wooden smell. However, we like the massage machine provided in the room, but the computer wasn't function at all. Staff is about average, we booked a taxi to airport from the hotel. The trip offered from them to Halongbay is a bit pricy,so we didn't book from them

Great location, room, service!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hanoi Value in December 2012. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and at all times during our stay. The location is good, in the old quarter and a short walk to Hoam Kiem lake. The Staff very friendly. Would recommend as good value for money.
Shopping Tip:
If you can remember the number in Vietnamese and said to them you can get the good price!

Best value hotel! Highly recommended!!
Very helpful staff, good location, excellent room amenities
9.3
They even give you free laptop to use! Some 5-star hotels don't even provide it. Room was excellent. Clean and good value for the price. Highly recommended.
Pillows were a bit too thick and firm though. Some people might like them.
