Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. We want you to pay the lowest possible rate for your room. Designed beautifully Clean Helpful and professioner staff...

Nothing disliked

I'll start off this review by stating that every nook and cranny of this hotel is designed beautifully. The design and decor of the Blue Paradise hotel is beyond amazing. The conservatory is a great place to relax. The service is great; the staff at the front desk are very helpful and most of them addressed us by our name after only our first night there. The breakfast is lovely; the menu presents a wide variety of choices. The restaurant is also very good. The room and bathroom are also beautiful, very spacious and comfortable. It really was the most perfect place I have ever stayed in.

Everything OK

Any criticism would be petty.

Location good, staff friendly. Bed comfortable; fittings, furnishings, linens new. Room recently painted. Only downsides: lack of good reading light, no view from back room windows, wifi signals positioned on 2nd and 4th floor so weak reception to room 306. Negatives outweighed by positives. Breakfast freshly prepared to order, which they offered and made when I arrived at 9:30 am. Incomparable value.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walking distance to Lake, Old City.

not much

My daughter forgot her dear teddy koala at the hotel after we left Hanoi for Saigon. She wrote an email to the hotel and asked for help. Surprisingly, the hotel stuff immediately contacted other guests and found out that another family living in the hotel would be in Saigon soon. They asked the family to bring the koala to Saigon and after certain adventures with the other family, the teddy koala came back to my daughter's hands. She was so happy and would send her sincere gratitude to the Blue Paradise hotel stuffs. In fact, despite we stayed in much expensive hotels with many stars later on our journey in Vietnam, kids still regard the Blue paradise hotel as the best of all hotels in Vietnam. Thanks a lot

Restaurant Tip : HighWay 4 is a great restaurant just at the corner on the same street of the hotel

The rooms, the location.

The back rooms.

The rooms above the street are very nice and spacious as shown on the photos. However, when we arrived we were checked into a tiny windowless back room. If you can get a front room, I would recommend this hotel.

Nightlife Tip : Don't miss the water puppet show.

-great breakfast -very helpful staff -free wifi in rooms

-rooms can vary in quality - our first room was extremely horrible while our second room was excellent

our first night at blue paradise hotel was one of the worst nights we had ever spent at a hotel: the bed was so lumpy that we were getting back pains and there was a pipe right by our room window which made so much noise that we stayed up half the night!! We complained the next morning and got changed to a different room which was MUCH better - almost felt like we were in a different hotel!!! despite our horrible night in the first room - staff was very helpful and nice. breakfast was also very delicious.

Hotel Feature Tip : if you are put in the room on the first floor (right by the breakfast area) - ask to be changed to a different room right away!!! this room is the worst room in the hotel...the rooms upstairs are MUCH better!

Came back this hotel for the second time and found this time the Blue Paradise Hotel was much better than last time. The lobby looked much more beautiful and there was also a new restaurant. We stayed in a deluxe room on 5th floor with large balcony and city view. This room was very nice decoration with wooded wall and flowers everywhere. Staff was like last time, always helpful and funny. We really love this hotel and highly reconmmend for you. Sure the best hotel in Hanoi.

Great brand-new hotel in best location of Hanoi. This was the second time we stayed at Blue Paradise Hotel. After 1 year everything was much better ( They has just upgraded). All rooms looked nice, clean and very spacious. The bathroom was very large and tidy and clean. The shower was good, and the towels white and fluffy. I could have done without the bright pink and white striped wallpaper on the wall opposite the bed though! It was good to stay for short period of time. Room service was reactive so did not have to wait for too long when we asked for something. staff was great- so friendly and so helpful. Breakfast was free and exellent. The airport pickup arranged by the hotel was excellent, and I recommend using this rather than trying to arrange a taxi on arrival.

Location. Super-friendly staff.

The plumbing

Our family really liked this hotel and even returned for an extra night after our Halong Bay tour. We had a very large room with two double beds, two sofas, flat screen TV and a little balcony. It felt very homely. The climb to the 5th floor was worth it to avoid the street noise down below. Buffet breakfast was very good. It was the first of our hotels in Vietnam to have cereal! The helpful, friendly people at reception were keen to please and we saw them checking the Agoda comments while we were there. They were quick to remedy the plumbing problems that we had and were busy putting hairdriers in the rooms. We would definitely recommend this hotel to people who want a clean, friendly place to stay at the right price.

Travel tip : Try the kerbside restaurant at the corner of Nguyen Huu and Hang Thung, it's teeming with locals! For the less intrepid, the 15000 dong kebabs are excellent.

Staff (Son)

Tired

location is great and staff more than helpful where needed, although the hotel is under repair it is NOT being done to a satisfactory standard. this was our second time here in 4 days and were greeted like old friends by the staff, I really cant say more about how good they are. Again this hotel is more suited to backpackers. The linen and towels are very much in need of replacing. Internet was down more than up? But again the staff were great. (Come on owners your staff can only work with the goods that you supply them with)

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : while in the street looking at a restaurant menu we were nearly robbed by a local. My husband had his pack on his back and a young guy was about to go into it.......please wear your packs to the front of you

Staff and location

maintenance/plumbing of the hotel, linen needs to be replaced in all areas

location is great and staff more than helpful where needed, although the hotel is under repair it is NOT being done to a satisfactory standard. on arrival we had to move rooms and again to find that our bath/shower leaked all over the floor through bad plumbing. The room was stacked with unused furniture, old TV, old computer and two matresses on our deck, I would advise even though this is not a high end accommodation and more suited to backpackers, they need to clean their act up a little bit, the cleaning of the rooms was not of a very high standard either. The linen and towels are very much in need of replacing and again I realise that this is low end acommodation, there really is no reason for things to be unclean. internet was down more than up? But again the staff were great. (Come on owners your staff can only work with the goods that you supply them with)

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A great stop was the information centre with free internet access, travel and tour shoppe and great coffee in "Jeans coffee" shop all in the same building. I really enjoyed my trip around the lake in a tuk tuk bicycle.

It is what you expect for a budget hotel. Splendid service.....

Not much for the price paid. Though I would expect a proper safe for guests' passports just for the peace of mind of your guests.

I thought the service was great with excellent staff, surpassed my expectations. Very safe and secure located in a great area. Breakfast was good and the rooms were as expected: clean. 6 flight of stairs on most days might be a problem for some, but there are bigger mountains to climb so not a problem for me. All in all I thought I got what I paid for maybe more....

Great staff (english and french speaking). In the old quarter, close to Ho Kiem Lake.

No elevator (many stairs). A few problems due to refurbishement... I think that this hotel will be very good within a few monthes (once they will finish the refurbishment).

The "blue paradise hotel" is well situated in the old quarter, a few hundred meters far from Ho Kiem lake and the water puppet theatre. Staff is very nice and helpful. Whereas we booked 2 double deluxe rooms which seemed to be newly refurbished, they gave us 2 family rooms not refurbished, with a few problems in one bathroom (only cold water, flood once we empty the bathtub). Very noisy during the day due to refurbishment upstairs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a newly furbished room. Not too much noise from outside despite being a bustling street below.

We stayed at beginning of Aug and they were refurbishing a room below. Very noisy, woken at 7.30 and in the afternoon no water for a while and jack hammers thumping.

Hotel was well placed to walk around the Old Quarter and had small cafes close by. We arrived at 6 in the morning and they gave us a dbl rm until our triple was ready later. They only charged us a small fee for the use of this, it was very helpful. Breakfast was good, eggs, bread, fresh fruit and plenty of coffee.

Shopping Tip : Markets are close by,plenty of shoes, silk goods and embroidery from local tribes, really good value considering the amount of work involved.

Location, free wifi (although signal was poor).

Bars on windows, strange smell in room, no natural light.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights & I think we were unfortunate with the room location that they gave us. We were on the ground floor (next to reception) which meant that our room was very noisy all night. Also the window in our room had bars on it & looked out onto a brick wall about one foot away. This also meant that there was no natural light. The en-suite bathroom had a strange cupboard in it filled with old mattresses & bits of wood & smelt really quite bad. This in turn caused the room to smell very fusty. It is possible that if you are able to acquire a room on one of the upper floors that you will overcome these problems. The location of the hotel is very good & it's a very short walk to the lake in the centre of Hanoi.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Book an overnight trip to Halong bay. We chose to use the Sinh Cafe rather than the hotel & received a much lower price & had a fantastic time.
