first impressions are that this is little more than a run down backpaker hostel, however at this price what can you really expect. The real plus point to this little place are the reception staff, first class advice, first class service and very very trustworthy. I must emphasise that i have not been looked after by conciergie staff in four and five star hotels as well as by the reception staff at the Bodega Hotel. Arranged rail tickets, taxis, bookings with first class efficency and very little cost. look past the accomodation trust the people.

La ubicación del hotel es excelente. Es un poco ruidoso a veces porque las puertas de las habitaciones dan al espacio común, sn embargo es tranquilo. El desayuno podría tener un poquito mas de buena voluntad, por ejemplo podrían tostar as rodajas de pan. Pero los vietnamitas compensaron con buena voluntad y excelente precio. Obvio que vuelvo al Bodega Hotel si paso de nuevo por Hanoi.

Muy buena cama. Todos los aparatos funcionan perfectamente. El aire acondicionado funciona perfecto. Amplia habitación. Buena atención del staff.

La conexión a INTERNET se desconectaba y se hacía muy lenta. Me parece que vi alos muchachos del hotel andar en juegos que toman mucha conexión.

The hotel stay is located near main road. It was really noisy until 2 am but it's good place. Nearby bank.

Very good place to shop & sightsee. Near by gallery & nice shops.

Breakfast serve too late. Food was so so.

• Shopping Tip : Near by good Gallery, good ceramic, good kai silk. Be careful of taxi drivers as they usually charge double to foreigners. I recommend this hotel if you want to go Halong bay. Don't sleep on the boat, and don't go to Cat Ba Island, it was really dirty at Cat Ba Island hotel. Hotel was really dirty, in the hotel we saw insects, dead roaches, bed full of ants. We changed the room but same thing happened. People are always looking to take advantage of foreigners..you'd be better off just taking a daytrip to Halong bay. I'll never visit there again.

A great little hotel. Cheap, basic but very good for what you pay for. Rooms are large.Staff very friendly and helpful. Free Internet which is great. One in the foyer and the other in breakfast room.With in walking distance to all the sight seeing attractions eg water puppets, markets. Very quick to respond to e-mails.

If I had to find a weakness. Towels a little hard and scratchy.

• Travel tip : E-mail ahead and get the hotel taxi to pick you up from the airport cheaper than the airport taxis, [than if you book from the airport taxi desk]. Taxis from airport not cheap.

Pleasant stay at Bodega Hotel Guest Rating: 3.8

We did our booking via Internet through Agoda website (2nd time - first booking through Agoda was for Siem Reap holiday). Agoda's recommendation of hotels have so far been reliable and satisfactory. We booked for a room for 3 pax. The room given to us was clean, spacious, had a sitting area and a nice balcony. Staff is friendly and extremely helpful despite not being too fluent in English. Location is 5 mins walk from the lake and shopping area. The hotel even responded to our email inquiry on airport taxi transfer and offer to pick us up from the airport. Thank you for making our holiday a pleasant and memorable one.

Room is spacious and clean. Good location.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go for water puppet show just opposite the lake- interesting price is 40000-60000vnd Trishaw ride is relaxing and worth going too.

Dollar for dollar the Bodega was good value. Entrance is through a bank and all rather run down so first impressions are rather off putting. The staff is very helpful and friendly though and the tour desk very good value and competitive so there's no need to go looking for other tour operators. Very good position for those who prefer to getaway from big hotel complexes and see "the real Hanoi" - just walk out the front door and you're in the middle of the bustle and noise of the old quarter.

In the old quarter, friendly helpful staff, good sized rooms, and close to great cafes.

Shabby entrance, and noise carried up from the lobby.

• Restaurant Tip : 2 streets of genuine local cafes (mainly Vietnamese diners) a couple of streets over to the left of the hotel. food really cheap, and plenty of variety and delicious.

Really enjoyed staying here. After the airport transfer driving off without giving any change to a relatively large note, we were thankful that the next people we had to interact with were warm, friendly and very helpful. Excellent value for money.

The room was huge,clean enough,the staff very helful even though their english is not the best they try at least.The brekfast is very simple but in general it was good value for the money.The only problem was some misunderstanding when we tried to book for a third night with them and they had to transfer us in another hotel of their company even though at start they said we could stay there.
