Good location in the old quarter,

the staff were friendly and very helpful. rooms were small but clean and adequate. the location was good for exploring the old quarter, which was the main reason for our visit.
Restaurant Tip:
One of the best Indian restaurants i have been to is located directly opposite. [ The Namaste, Hanoi, 47 LO Su St.]

this is a very nice small hotel with good well equipped rooms. it is in the old part of hanoi within walking distance of great restaurants, shops & site seeing. the rooms are small but have good bathrooms, a large tv & are very quiet in what can be a noisy city.
the hotels breakfast is very good (within the scope of the cost) 7 the free wifi in the room a real bonus.
Restaurant Tip:
Try one of the many good & cheap Restaurants down near the Lake.

Boss Hotel - good location

the hotel is located in the hoan kiem lake area which is where most of the attractions and good food are.
the hotel room is clean but personally find it small. basic amenities included and has internet connection in the room which is a plus.
breakfast is ok, reasonable range of selection, but do go early, cos the food runs out fast.
had a small issue with the hotel staff but was resolved after i sent an email to hotel management, which was followed up by the boss of the hotel himself. the hotel also provided free airport transfer as compensation. to have the boss of the hotel take up the issue personally and even come down to look me up says a lot on the quality of service.
Restaurant Tip:
Followed the guide book to this eatery Quan An Ngon, the food and atmosphere is really a good place to try.

the staff at the boss were fantastic, with advise and helping book anything you may require. nothing was a problem and when they say its is their pleasure to serve, it is said with honestly and meaning. they booked great value trips to ha long bay and flights throughout the country for us. rooms were spacious and clean, even had a massage chair in out room.

We booked two rooms on the internet with Agoda. The photos looked better than the actual rooms (which are all small except for the executive suite and the family suite), but the rooms are clean, convenient and fairly priced. Breakfast is included, and for three nights stay, airport pickup is included or the third night is free. What could be better?
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Halong Bay is truly worthwhile for a visit if you can spend a night in one of the beautiful junks. We did, and except for the three and a half hour ride each way, everything else is good.

for 3 days 2 nights, it's cool to stay there. nice hotel with nice facilities. you will get computer on your room and can browsing on your room!! also the dive bar, it's so unique and luxury.. good for foods and also i like, they have many smile, from the receptionist, porter, 'til the bar's staff..
Restaurant Tip:
try any street-stall foods, it is good and with low price.. but if u want to eat on the resto, it's good, too..
try any local foods, like spring rolls, or some kind of foods that never u found in other places..

still a hotel with good services,

this is my second stay at boss hotel. my first stay was almost 2 years ago when the hotel was quite new and we had a great time at the hotel. this time around, i am traveling with some family members and took up 3 rooms, the services, breakfast, and facilities are still good, but smell of humidity started to show. the standard room was really very small, and the piping system was not working well. my parents bathroom was literally flooded that we need to get the hotel staff to come in to clean it. the draining in the other 2 rooms was slow as well. overall, the experience was not bad, especially the staff performance was very rarely seen in vietnam, but as there are newer hotels in the old quarter, i would seek other alternative hotel for my next trip.
