Good value for money. Just watch out when you cross the road as you are near a main junction.

Didn't bother with breakfast after the first day, but you get what you pay for. The hotel is cheap and in terms of value for money it ranks highly, just don't expect great facilities for the price. I had three different rooms whilst there, one was excellent, one was partition against staff quarters and one had a two inch gap open to the next room where it met the window. The TV channels were suprisingly good. All in all happy for the money, if your on a budget, it's recommended.

We arrived at 2am so we were dead tired and sleepy when we reached the hotel. The following day, I told the hotel staff that I expected a better room and they transfered us to another room (#401) which is just what I expected. We booked a tour package to Halong Bay and the price was reasonable compared to those offered in the airport. After our tour we were given a room where to rest, compliments of the hotel. We asked them to buy our train tickets to Hue and we were even accompanied and assisted to the train station by one of their staff. I thank Mr. Dat, Miss Hoa & Tweet, and Mr. Cocn who were all very helpful to us. There are also two or three names I have mentioned but they, too, deserve to be commended for their excellent services. I strongly recommend this hotel to all other travellers. I am resolved to stay in this hotel on my next visit to Hanoi.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Water Puppet Show is very entertaining and worth the trip. It is walking distance from Democracy Hotel. This show is the only one of its kind in the world and in Vietnam, and can be viewed only in Hanoi.

Why burn your money on expensive hotel rooms when you can find a decent and comfortable space like Democracy Hotel? The rooms are spacious and complete with the amenities a traveler would need - clean bathroom, neat towels, linens, TV set, mini-bar, and A/C.
Best value for money, clean and spacious rooms, excellent customer service from friendly staff
Nothing special with the breakfast. This area can still be improved.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Since the hotel is situated near the Hoan Kiem Lake, you can easily pass time within the vicinity of the the Hoan Kiem Lake and Park. The flora, stone sculptures, red bridge, and other structures make a perfect subject of photography.
