Great Boutique hotel with very clean large rooms
Large clean rooms with free wifi
8
we booked 3 vip rooms , the rooms are very large and clean , the 5th floor vip room has an added balcony , the hotel is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the lake and all the shopping and restaurants to be found in the old quarter. the staff were extremely friendly and made our stay a real pleasure. we were given the option of booking some tour which we did choose 1 day tour to halong bay, and another to hoa lu- tam cok also known as halong bay inland , both tours were amazing !
we would definitely recommend this charming small boutique hotel.

Unique hotel in perfect location
Helpful staff, centrally located
8.7
Selected hotel on internet. Location in Old Quarter neat Lake was perfect. A little noisey, but that is Asia and part of theb experience. Large room with sitting area. A few things were not finished to the stard we have in Australia but this is a Third World Country. Breakfast is limited but adequate, if I wanted bacon, eggs and sausages I would have stayed at Home. Pho is excellent. Staff would do anything for us, call cab, carry bags, open doors, even go a press the lift button when we came in. Ideal place for enjoying the Vietnam experince. Staff have limited english (I have no Vietnamese)but we were noy paying 5 star rates. Great value for money. We have booked to return.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Spend a day and a night wandering the Old Quarter.Perfectly safe but street names can be confusing as the name will change at each cross street. Here the modern eletronic world co-exists with a life style that existed 100 years ago

Beautiful, clean little hotel
The staffs are very friendly and service is top class
9.3
while checking in, the hotel manager at the front desk noticed from the passport that it was my girlfriend's birthday. wanting to surprise us, he instructed the chef to prepare a cake and roses for her. they brought it up to our room just before we head out for dinner. very thoughtful.
apart from that, having arrive from sapa early in the morning on a overnight train, the hotel staff help us to clean up a room so we could check in earlier.
they even prepaired a local handcrafted gift on our departure date. never had this kind of service even from a 5* hotel.

Good location in the Old Quarter
Location and good sized room
6.3
the rooms look a bit tired and dated. staff were very friendly and tried hard to be helpful, but did not suceed at times. we were told a booking had been made at a restaurant for us, but when we got to the address of the restaurant it didn't exist. breakfast was a big disappointment - better to go out for breakast.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you require a taxi to the airport - book the day before with reception.

decent hotel - nice and big room
6
in general, the hotels in hanoi suffer from the lack of sufficient hot water. expect to be fighting over the hot water with other rooms and even with your partner. other than that the room is nice and big with a very oriental design. nevertheless it does not have the feel of an expensive hotel even thought top dollar was paid.

the location of the gia bao hotel is really superb. five minutes walk from the center, you can easily walk around the central area of the city. the rooms are clean, the stuff is very very nice. they helped us a lot to organize our trips afterwards. we would really suggest you to go to the gia bao hotel!
