Gia Bao Palace Hotel was terrific. We used the hotel for leaving bags and showering after going to Sapa, Halong Bay and CatBa Island as well as our 2 night in Hanoi at Gia Bao. The staff helped us over and over and even when we turned up at 4.30am from Sapa, without booking in, they gave us a room for half a day to sleep and clean up. Normal room was... Aus dollars. It is in old quarter and walking to the markets is easy and close by. dIDN'T LIKE hanoi much but Gia Bao was a pleasant relief from the traffic and crowd outside.
