The hotel had a mix of Vietnamese and foreigners. The breakfast buffet was descent and it had something for everyone but nothing special. There was free wifi in all of the rooms and the tv had 5 working stations. The showers had low water pressure but it was enough to get the job done. Overall this hotel was good place to get away from the craziness of Hanoi's traffic and noise. I would return to this hotel as the staff were super helpful and friendly but I wouldn't pick this hotel if you want to relax.

Not impressive from the outside but once you step into the lobby area, it gave you a warm feeling. Staff are very hospitable and always greet you with a smile. Room is small but very well furnishing that looks new. The room gave you a feeling like a 4 star corporate hotel equivilent. Breakfast is decent as the spread is quite limited. Overall great value for money!

If you want to avoid all the hassles to find a good 3.5 stars hotel in Hanoi, pick the Gondola and forget about others. This is the best hotel in its range under $60 US. Walking distance to the Thang Long Puppet Theatre, famous lake, and very helpful receptionist.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book the Water Puppet show ticket in advance otherwise you may not be able to watch the show in your trip.

Hidden gem right in the centre of Old Town Hanoi

almost brand new. superb location no less than 100 metres from the lake in old town hanoi. manager and staff greeted us on arrival and departure. nothing was too much trouble for them. buffet breakfast was good. we have been to hanoi before. we will certainly stay here again.
Shopping Tip:
Literally 100 metres from all the street stall, the old lake, shops, yet tucked away so noise is not a problem.
