Great value hotel

previous reviewers have commented on the fantastic service and attitude on arrival by meet and greet guy kevin. he is there to make sure you get the most out of your stay and he delivers fantastic support service.
located in the old quarter of hanoi, once you get your bearings around the backstreets you'll find the hotel conveniently located to restaurants and shops.
despite the chaos of the streets surrounding the hotel the noise at night is ok for a good sleep - but if you like a traditional australian cup of tea in the morning take your own tea bags.
breakfast is good and the hotel delivers all you need for a base in hanoi for a few days.

Hotel with loads of potential

We knew we were taking a bit of a flyer when we booked this hotel but overall were pleasantly surprised. The location was fantastic, the style of the hotel was lovely and the staff were second to none. The hotel just needs to up it's game a little and it would be first class. We had problems with the air conditioning in our room, first we were moved but one of the units in the second room also failed. It was repaired the following day but failed again and still wasn't fixed before we left. We were also disappointed with the quality and service at breakfast. However, the helpfulness of the staff overall and the general (if hot) comfort of the hotel compensated for these failings.
Restaurant Tip:
Try Geko. Its within walking distance and the food was great and relatively cheap

we choose this hotel because of the good rewievs and for the handy location. the hotel is small and the rooms are very small but very nice decorated. we loved that the shower was in the bedroom, and it was a nice rainwater shower head. we did not like that there was no window, but that is quite common in vietnam. the staff was very friendly and helpful. the hotel also had a very nice spa but it was a bit pricy so we had massage outside the hotel instead. the breakfast was good, with lovely ricepaper rolls each morning. we can recommend this hotel, especially for the location in the middle of old town

I had dinner at one of Hanoi's top restaurants---it made me Ill. I was very comfortable sequestered in my room for 30 hours, and the staff was quite accomodating. Almost didn't mind being down.

However,there is room for improvement...
Complimentary drinking water is only given on the first day.
Breakfast variety very limited.

rooms were clean and comfortable but most we stayed in looked out on to a brick wall.
dining area has no natural light so is a bit gloomy, though food was ok.
i liked the location, in the middle of the market area of the old quarter, but i live and work in vietnam. the relatives who were with me from the uk were a bit overwhelmed by all the bustle, but there was no hassle at all.
Travel tip:
if you need a feeling of space and feel claustrophobic, don't stay here

good place, but i dont have time to walk around
not easy to find if yo hire taxi driver outside hanoi city to there.
no bathtub , but breakfast is fine.
staff are extremely nice and helpful - call taxi and provde advice to everything. very good.
there is sap but no time to try

Small rooms but there's a spa in house!

i stayed only one night in this hotel and was only there for the evening. the room is small but all rooms in old town seem that way. space was well used even though a shower was in the corner of the room but bathroom had space as a result. if only there was a tub!
i had wifi in the room and was able to get a fabulous facial and brief massage at the last minute for a great price. it was terrific. atm out front is extremely convenient and staff are great and helpful. it's near dongxuan market and near the night mkt with terrific grilled chicken wings at night on the street out front for snacking.
i'd stay here again---great value for money!
