We stayed at the Hanoi Capital for a few nights. Right when we got there someone named Simon checked us in, and although pleasant, right away they tried to sell us tours, and this was very unwelcoming given it was 11pm after a long day of travelling!! There were subsequent attempts to sell tours, and based on our lack of interest, his solicitude greatly diminished to the point of not even saying goodbye. The other guys who didn't man the desk were really considerate, pleasant and helpful (within their limits). For the price, the room was decent, cleaned daily.
free internet, outgoing, helpful staff, in the old quarter near many shops
didn't replace the free water each night, stole the decorative pillows after the first night, weren't flexible on early checkout
- Restaurant Tip : If you go out the hotel on Hang But, turn right, go to the end of the street and then turn left. Up a block or two on the right hand side corner is a delicious cafe that has great vietnamese weasel coffee, called Trung Nguyen cafe
