The hotel is located in the center of old part of the city. The quarter is very animated. Hotel crews are very kind.

All the quarter are the same. This lacks of variety.

Hotel crews are very kind and gentle. Not so expensive.Recomended.

The only pro is that the small street has relatively little traffic, i.e. it is quieter than a hotel on bigger streets.

Very small and rather shabby room, mattresses/pillows uncomfortable (plus smelly covers), no safe box in room, staff most interested in selling tours and not helpful at all in more practical issues like renting a bicycle. Breakfast extremely poor. No Wifi access in room.

The room we got at first did not have lift access and the door did not lock properly. We've been told 'It's allright, just leave it open ...' We insisted on getting another room, which was even smaller and very sticky. The aircondition was extremely dirty and could not be regulated (chinese remote control). The bathroom was flooded after a shower and the power sockets were hanging from the wall. When we complained, we've been told that our room was 'standard' only, we could have booked the luxury room. Overall, this was the worst hotel-experience we had in Vietnam.

Staff tried to be helpful but was lost a bit. When we reuqested it we got a better room (although we supposedly had booked aroom of the deluxe category). Free internet.

we booked de luxe room but they did not give us their best room istead they gave us a dusty rom with a bathroom of the kind where you can go to the toilet, brush your teeth at the sink and have a shower at the same time. Baycot was brought but staff forgot about sheets matress etc. The socket for the lamp was behind a wardrobe staff recommended to move wardrobe away from wall inthe middle of the room.Staff tried to repair the broken lamp in the middle of theroom instead of replacing it simply

The hotel is very well located but everything is very much rundown. staff is a bit lost when tryingto accomodate our reasonable requests although they tried to be always helpful. We can definitively not recommend to stay there for the reasons mentioned under 'cons'

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ho Tschi Minh museum and mausoleum

Location , Breakfast.

The staffs here are very friendly and helpful . Free internet cable in the room working well . many channel of cable TV . Bathroom very good size convenient with hot shower and bathtub . Room space are average . Bed linen is clean , free coffee and tea are provide . Buffet Breakfast is basic but better to order fresh omelet is so delicious . Location quite far from hon keam lake to walk but surround by a thousand of local shop on the way to hon keam lake .

Shopping Tip : Shopping In Hanoi should compare the price 3-4 shops and bargain. Do not give them the big notes. you will not get the change .Try to notice how much local pay and pay them the same.

Quiet Helpful

None that I noticed.

A driver met me at the airport, as promised. We had arranged this via email so I was a bit nervous as to whether it would work out (particularly as I was arriving in Hanoi at 22:35) but it did. So I was very grateful. A basic small hotel with helpful staff, near the train station. And very quiet. They also arranged my train ticket the following day.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : train station.

Staff, hot water

Hard to find

First of all, the hotel is managed by young staff. They are very very kind with high service such as the pretty receptionist in the long dress and a cute girl for the room-making. I stayed there 13 days totally, and missing them, and will stay there again. The room is tidy. You won't miss the hot water there. It is located in the old downtown area, so everything seems crowded there. You can experience the nostalgic mood there, though. It is not their fault, but hard to find even for the Vietnamese people. You better bring the location map with you when you go out.

Good location, caring staff.

Weak breakfast.

Repeated our stay in this hotel, about 10 days later. It actually confirmed every single aspect of the previous stay. Good location right in the Old Quarter, inexpensive, but laking in the food department. I would recommend for friends not wanting to spend a lot of money without being too picky.

Hospitality, friendly staff, location, free internet

The rooms could be better cleaner

If you want to stay in the heart of the Hanoi Old Quarter, this is the place to be. This nice and friendly hotel is very well located. The price is good for those who only will need the hotel at night for some hours of sleep. The only facility is the free internet (which is always good) and the TV on the bedroom with overseas channels. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is so so. There is one thing that the hotel need to improve. The cleaning. The rooms could be more cleaner and the towels more white. Evean so, the relation price / quality is good. And if you do not want to spend much money on the hotel, this is a hotel to take into account when choosing where to stay in Hanoi.

Caring staff, location, inexpensive, free Internet.

Weak breakfast.

The first hotel we stayed on the first visit to Hanoi. The staff was attentive, and not overly insistent on the tours available. The rooms are reasonable, and clean enough. It has free internet. The breakfast is nothing special and the space for the meals is small and not well located. The location of the hotel is 15 mins walk north of the Water Puppet Theater.

Shopping Tip : The location is good as it is well in walking distance of most of the small shops of souvenirs right in Old Quarter.

Good location, kindly & friendly staff, comfortable room

Only communication in English

The room was comfortable and clean. I especially loved the nice view from my room. The price was just right. The hotel has easy access to Ho Hoan Lake, Dong Xuan Market, and many shopping streets. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All food I ate at mini-restaurant in the hotel was delicious. The hotel has its own car and we can ask to transport between airport and the hotel cheaper than airport taxi. I will book this hotel if I have a chance to go to Hanoi again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can enjoy night market on weekends near this hotel!

free internet, outgoing, helpful staff, in the old quarter near many shops

didn't replace the free water each night, stole the decorative pillows after the first night, weren't flexible on early checkout

We stayed at the Hanoi Capital for a few nights. Right when we got there someone named Simon checked us in, and although pleasant, right away they tried to sell us tours, and this was very unwelcoming given it was 11pm after a long day of travelling!! There were subsequent attempts to sell tours, and based on our lack of interest, his solicitude greatly diminished to the point of not even saying goodbye. The other guys who didn't man the desk were really considerate, pleasant and helpful (within their limits). For the price, the room was decent, cleaned daily.

Restaurant Tip : If you go out the hotel on Hang But, turn right, go to the end of the street and then turn left. Up a block or two on the right hand side corner is a delicious cafe that has great vietnamese weasel coffee, called Trung Nguyen cafe
