location, very friendly staff, computer with internet in your room.

None

The location is great, in the old centre, close to many places and close to several major agencies who organize tours. The staff was very friendly and always very helpful. Rooms are fine, having a computer with internet connection in your room is also a plus.

Comfortable room with its own computer station, extra helpful and friendly staff, right across the street is a great health food restaurant, hotel is in a great location. Breakfast is cooked to your request (not a buffet) and is delicious.

The cultural center next door was having some kind of music exhibition and they found it necessary to have the speakers up full blast. The bad thing was, they'd start at 6:00 am. If you love Vietnamese cultural music you'll be in heaven. For others, it's like fingernails on a blackboard!

We stayed here for 3 days and enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked our last night in Vietnam at this same hotel. We went to Halong Bay for a 2-day cruise and the staff let us leave our two large pieces of luggage here in a storage room. When we checked back into the hotel, they already had our luggage in the room and waiting for us. It was the nice, little attention to detail things that make this a great place to stay in Hanoi.

Shopping Tip : The shopping in the Old Quarter is great. Just don't buy the first thing you see - check your prices first because most items are sold in a variety of places for a variety of prices. It pays to shop around.

The private beach is wonderful and there is really no public substitute where you can have some sand to yourself. The ocean view is truley stunning. It's a nice quite location away from town center. Cab ride to/from downtown is about $5, but there is a free shutle operating many hours of the day. The resort is the slightest bit dated, but it is excellently maintained (I believe I was told it was built in '91). The staff is very freindly and eager to please. Breakfast is wonderful.

Very few. The age shows a little bit, but it is clear that the staff cares about maintaining the property. I wish the menue at the restaurant emphasized local food a little more. No one comes to Vietnam to find the world's best cheesburger!

All in all a great experiance. The beach is stunning, the staff treats you like family, and the tours are thoughtful and engaging. We really enjoyed our honeymoon here and would love to visit again. There are a few signs of wear but the place looks better then the photos I'd seen on Agoda or Trip Advisor. I would definately recommend it for the money. We stayed in the Victoria Suite and were not dissapointed with our splurge! This isn't the place for authentic Vietnamese food however and I suggest you follow your guidebook and not the hotel's dinner recomendations. Brother's cafe was clearly the best Vietnamese restaurant we found in Hoi An for ambiance and food quaility.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : My Son is worth a visit. It's great! I recomend taking a guide from the hotel. Even more importantly go in the afternoon. We were the only tourists there. Our guide said there would have been hundereds if we'd gone in the morning.

Good value, friendly staff with excellent English, good location

Ants in the room, fairly basic bathroom

I booked a Deluxe room, and we were given the room on the top of the building (they called it the Penthouse). The room had windows on 3 sides and had cool views. The room had a computer with unlimited free internet access, which was great, and a flat screen TV. On the first day we found a lot of very small ants on the table, and called the desk to sort it out. On the last night the ants were back, on the table, and some on the desk next to the bed. As it was the last night and I was tired, i cleared them as well as I could and didn't call the desk again. The bathroom was fairly basic, with the shower over the bath. The staff were very good, speaking excellent English. The breakfast was fairly simple, but fine considering the hotel class. Good location, about 10 minutes walk to the lake.
