Excellent location for the old town and lake and easy access to french quarter by cheap taxi.
Very attentive and helpful staff at all times.
Breakfast could be improved - limited choice available - but what there was was good quality.
The "honeymoon suite" we had booked was really just a family room with two beds but was a decent size and had a nice little balcony over the hectic stret below.
No bar or restaurant (justa few tables and chairs used for breakfast) in the hotel so nowhere (in the hotel) for a relaxing drink after a hot hectic day touring the city.
Overall a pleasant hotel in a good location at a reasonable price with helpful, friendly and attentive staff and good aircon. If staying in Hanoi again for more than a few days I would pick a larger hotel with a pool and a decent bar.
Restaurant Tip : Make sure you check all bars and restaurants you plan to visit with the hotel staff and ask them to call ahead as both guide books we used - Frommers and Rough Guide (the latest edition available in shops at the time!) had incorrect addresses where they had either moved or closed completely (Bobby Chin's and Ly Club for example).

Small and compact, but not short on service, facilities and amenities. Good breakfast
Rooms are small by any standard, but I guess that's to be expected
I could feel the genuineness of the welcome given us by the Reception Staff. We were led to our room which contained everything you would need, from a 5-star hotel, but wait, this is supposed to be a 3-star hotel. Room was kept spic and span throughout our stay. Would come back and stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Must go on Halong Bay Tour

Close to the Old Quarter, very good staff, very clean.
It was probably a little expensive but we may have just booked through the wrong agents.
We arrived by train in Hanoi at 4am. There was someone waiting to take us to the hotel as arranged. Too early to check into the room so they allowed us to stay in the breakfast room where we read until they had a room for us at 8.30am. The hotel is in the Old Quarter, within a few minutes walk of the main shopping streets. The staff were excellent, very helpful and accommodating. Being able to leave our bags when we travelled to Ho Long Bay was much appreciated. The hotel was immaculate and our room very comfortable.
Restaurant Tip : The Paris Deli is nearby and has great food. Very popular.

Personalized service, nice (though limited) breakfast, good value for money, location
Tucked into a row of stores (you have to look really hard to find the signage of the hotel)
I liked the personalized kind of service that a boutique hotel like this one provides. I particularly liked the restaurant staff who served breakfast. They're very solicitous and provide quick service. The reception staff were also very helpful with selecting points of interest as well as in arranging sightseeing itineraries. Also, the hotel is located within a 10-minute walk to the central lake of Hanoi, where a lot of restaurants and bars are located.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can ask the reception desk to arrange a day-trip to Halong Bay.

This place was as nice as everyone said in the reviews. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were great, especially the family room and the breakfast was lovely..all freshly cooked to order which makes a nice change to the usual buffet breakfast. The location is very good..step outside the hotel and you are spoilt for choice for bars, restaurants and shops. It's only a short walk to the lake and the water puppet theatre. There was free internet in our room and downstairs in the lobby and an HSBC ATM right outside the hotel...very useful. Cosidering it's central location we didn't find it too noisy either. Thoroughly recommend this hotel

convenient location, excellent service from staff and good amenities in room.
our room didnt have a view from the window but this was a very minor point when everything else was considered.
hotel was conveniently situated, and the staff were excellent. they really couldn't do enough for us through out the stay; from the welcome drink,to calling taxis and storing our bags when we left for a cruise of nearby halong bay (and even letting us use their showers when we came back). our room was also very spacious and a restful haven from the bustling streets. the computer and internet in our room was a boon and made booking a cruise to halong bay easier and more relaxing than having to trawl the tour guides or pay for an internet cafe.

Restaurant Tip : hanoi garden is an excellent restaurant - go around 8 when it gets busy and join the locals in sampling some great vietnamese food at reasonable prices. also - don't miss the chance to drink bia hoi with the locals! be brave.

Computer in room. Well located. Sparkling clean. Excellent travel booking service in the hotel
Our room was very small. For Hanoi this hotel was also relatively expensive.
More than anything: a GREAT staff. Seldom have I come across such fantastic service, and I have stayed in some very posh places! These people go above and beyond!
The hotel travel office was extremely helpful in booking our trip to HaLong Bay and Sapa. Including all transfers to train station etc. All completely hassle-free and perfectly coordinated.
They gave us a room to shower and freshen up between trips, even though we had checked out of the hotel, at no charge.
Super efficient, friendly. Worth the extra money, even thought the room we had was small and for Hanoi standards a little expensive
Hotel Feature Tip : Use their travel service! No need to book anything in advance, at least not off season.

Quiet, Clean, Location, High Service Level, Breakfast
Quiet and clean, a rare find in itself for a hotel located in the Old Quarter.
Staff very professional and helpful, fluent in English. After we checked out, we were in the Hanoi train station trying to get onto our train bound for Sapa. It was chaos in the the train station and I called the hotel for help as the counter staff did not speak much English. The Hanoi Elegance 3 staff turned up at the train station within minutes after my call to help us get onto our train.

great location, the best staff in the world, great breakfast, clean and comfortable room, private pc with internet access in your room
In some rooms the windows didn't close completely allowing some mosquitoes to enter but since it was at the back it didn't cause any noise discomfort ...
the staff is fantastic they behave as if their 3 star boutique hotel where a 5 star top of the line hotel. Anything you need they will arrange it for you. We booked all our tours via the hotel. They were all very nice, apart from some mishaps, but this is more due to the tour company itself. Since there are only a handful of tour companies its hard to avoid. The hotel staff assisted us in order to get us train tickets to sapa, escort us on to the trains which is very helpful since you would spent hours if you don't speak the language. And also picking us up on return from Sa Pa. Telling us exactly when and where what sight is open, recommending some great Restaurants ... for a helpful and not expensive base this hotel is great. They even upgraded is into a better room Junior Suite for the last night upon our return from Ha Long Bay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on a Sundy Morning to get the real Vietnam experience. Book Halong Bay with an overnight stay on Viet Hai island it is very comfortable and a great local experience as well (just keep in mind that after 11 in the evening there is no electricity and no hot water) Shower before and turn on your AC before that.

Great Location
Friendly and Helpful staff
Clean and nice rooms
There were no weaknesses in this hotel!!!
My stay at the Hotel Elegance 3 was marvelous! The staff helped us make many reservations, arrange cars for transportation, and answered our many questions. The room was nice and clean - and we enjoyed having the internet in our room (most hotels in Vietnam have a small Business centre with 3 computers for the whole hotel to share). We enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel had prepared a very helpful map of Hanoi - the Old Quarter with sights, etc. added by tourists. I would reccomend this hotel to everyone - am in a lesser hotel in HCMC right now...miss Hanoi Elegance :(

Strange mixture of styles in the rooms
This hotel has very friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are adequate but small. My room had a very strange combination of styles where a pseudo-antique (?) toilet and washbasin clashed with a modern but not very useful massage shower and a stylish bedroom. I appreciated the fresh fruit that was provided every day.
