Staff is the best. large rooms great location. close to everything. The staff helped us with everything we asked. Looks small from the outside but nice and clean inside. I would highly recomend this hotel to any traveler and will most definatly stay there on my next trip to Hanoi. Great location close to the markets and good resturants. We booked all our trips through the hotel and they gave us a discount. Overall great place

Loved the location--easy walk to Lake. Staff--very helpful and kind. ants in our first room... Holiday Hotel lived up to our expectations. We stayed there both before and after a Halong Bay excursion (which they planned for us and found a triple for me and my two children that I'd failed to find myself online). Our first room had a balcony but when we returned, we had a room without windows (except for in the bathroom) that we ended up liking better--quieter and cleaner (less dust from the street) and much bigger for the three of us.
Staff were pleasant and immediately met all our needs. They even found snacks we'd forgotten when leaving for Halong Bay and returned them to us when we got back.
Travel tip : Two great restaurants--Kiti's and Green Mango--both just around the corner

I liked this place. the price was right, the service was great. The internet worked very well and there were plenty of good channels to flip through. Best thing was that the rooms were clean and the place smelled clean and good. Not antiseptic clean but lavender clean. They were building on that street - big surprise. and the road was all tore up. but all transient problems. Next time I come to Hanoi, I will stay at this hotel. It had everything I needed and really, I was as happy there as I would have been at a 5 star because they had everything I needed which is : good internet., clean, fresh smelling rooms. Good linens on the bed and great service. Thang at the desk was always immediately helpful and spoke great english.
Travel tip : If you follow Hang Manh st. down about 2 blocks there are a lot of nice restaurants near the cathedral. Its about a 5 minute walk.

Clean and well decorated. The location is surrouned with the shopping and eating. there is a little of some smell of smoking in room. The Holidays Hotel is clean and reasonable price. It's located on the old quater that is the famous place in Hanoi. You can find this hotel easily. If you want to go to shopping, you can go there not far from hotel. U can go to see the water puppet show by walking about 15 minutes from hotel. If u want to have an local food u can find in front of hotel,there are a lot of vietnam food for u and I'm sure that u will get the nice memorial in Hanoi.
Shopping Tip : There are many cheapest stuffs on Saturday and Sunday at Dong Suan Market. Moreover if u want a cheapest souvernior, I suggest the shop of the front of Ho Chi Minh Musuem.

good location, good rate, good staff Hotel is conveniently located near place to go. Holidays gave us a superior room from what was booked without any extra fee. Receptionist is very attentive to her guests and always gracious.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The lake is beautiful.

Attention to detail missing The staff are very nice and the location is quite good, but the attention to detail is missing at this hotel. For instance the breakfast omlette was quite tasty but the juice was not fresh and the coffee was cold. While the waterpressure of the shower was good, they don't drain properly so you are standing in tepid water shortly afterwards. While its a bit of a hike to the 3rd floor, I would recommend it as the rooms higher and at the back of the hotel are quieter. Finally, the Internet is slow with old computers.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I went on a package two day tour to Ha long Islands booked through the hotel for $110 [ODC was the operator I think]. It is more expensive than some other packages, but the value was good - food, boat accommodation, etc. I recommend it.

As this seemed to be a converted house rather than a purpose built hotel, it wouldn't suit those with mobilty problems as there is no elevator.
