Hanoi Hotel has that feel of being among the better ones in town. The renovated wing is world class. The view of the lake and the openness is a relief after the rush on the streets. Food options are a definite plus. The sea food near the lobby is tantalising, though one feels sorry for the fish!! The lunch buffet at $5.50 is a bargain. Do not expect too many TV channels!

Lift always stopped on a floor that opened onto a brick wall. Kind of spooky.

Staff are excellent in the hotel. The hotel is located in a very busy part of the city, which I felt was good on the whole. There are quaint cafes outside the hotel, where one can spend a lot of time people gazing, having a beer or coffee and using the free Internet.
- Shopping Tip : There is a bank in the same building, on the ground floor. You will get the best rate for converting USD here, if you are able to it in the banking hours.

It is quite good value for money if you are only interested in a bed and breakfast hotel.
