Hanoi Legend Hotel, Hanoi

The hotel staff were very kind and friendly. They, except one lady, did not fluently speak English but they all did their best to entertain their guest. The only thing regrettable was that the window of the room I stayed faced to a wall, which made the room completely dark and humid even during the day.

I enjoyed a pleasant stay in this small hotel in the very heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter. The staff were helpful and advised me on tours and taxi and xeo (motorbike) pillion fares. The room was clean, very spacious with a large clean bathroom although it had no view or daylight. However, on reflection, this was probably a bonus as a room facing front or back would have been noisy. Life in Hanoi is noisy! There was some noise from other guests in the room above (moving furniture?) but this was only on a couple of occasions. I would recommend this hotel to the mid budget traveller or solo traveller like myself and it is family friendly.

The Ngoc Minh Hotel is in the centre of the Old Quarter of Hanoi with its many restaurants and interesting shops. The hotel is of a good basic standard, really clean but could do with a brightening up inside. The biggest plus for the hotel are the staff. They are friendly and really helpful. They organised my bus ticket to Hue and my flight ticket to Hoh Chi Minh. There is internet in the lobby and I was able to use the wi-fi connection in my room which was a great plus. Breakfast is simple, but good. I recommend this hotel to anyone who does not want a no frills place to stay at a good price
