Best feature is the helpful staff. We booked tours through them and got excellent value, particularly when sharing experiences with others. Luggage could be left whilst on tour (no room charge). Staff ensured that even if tour finished at Hanoi Station (eg SaPa tours) they collected us and returned us to the hotel. Superb Service!
Add to that in free room internet, great warm rolls and fried eggs for breakfast. This is a great value hotel.
Located in Old Quarter on the street of hotels/hostels. Rooms clean, staff helpful. Free in room internet.
No communal area, but not a big issue in Hanoi.
- Hotel Feature Tip : Ask staff to arrange any trips/taxis/guides. They will ensure you are not ripped off!

After getting through Hanoi Airport, we showed our 'booking page' to the 'Tourism Centre', who rang through and told the hotel to pick us up (it took 5 minutes wait for the driver).
The hotel is so central - within 5 minutes walk to every major 'Old Centre' destination.
We decided to use a taxi to go to cafe's - 'no worries', they not only booked the taxi for us, but made sure we paid the 'correct' price.
When a tour operator didn't show up, they were only too willing to call on our behalf and 'sort it out'.
We booked for 4 nights straight (to get the free airport - hotel pick up). But, on day 2 we asked if we could split to 3 + 1 because we decided to do a 7 day journey to the North-East (Bac Ha, Sapa, Dien Bien Phu, etc) which left a day earlier than when our booking ended. No worries to the staff.
We booked because Agoda offered free airport - hotel transport + tickets to water puppet show if booking 4+ nights.
The hotel is central in Old Quarter and in the same street as the Hanoi Backpackers Hostel.
As the street is in effect a laneway, the hotel is VERY quiet.
The room is comfortable, the aircon actually works well, and the multi-channel TV has english channels. The FREE ADSL pc is a great plus.
We asked for an iron, and the very friendly staff were only too happy to oblige.
Most of the staff speak english, balance enough to communicate.
Pity, there is no hot water jug to boil water.
The bathroom is adequate, though a bit small. But as a 3 star hotel, this isn't much to complain about.
Perhaps our only 'con' is with Agoda.
The webpage reveals the 'freeby' of airport transfer (etc). But, this wasn't placed on the booking sheet. We had to take issue with management before they would amend.
Also, the booking sheet didn't include the telephone number of the hotel. So, we had to go to the Tourism Office at the airport to enlist their help to get the 'shuttle' organised. That they did.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The nearby Hanoi Backpackers Hostel has a great (easy to read) Old Quarter map.

Overall it is quite a modern hotel in an Old city.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, they went out of their way to provide an excellent stay (giving tips for shops, booking tours, buying theater tickets, etc).
Room was comfortable and clean with own computer and broadband.
Location is excellent - in the middle of the Old Quarter.
Breakfast could be improved
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Halong Bay Junk Cruise - really worthwhile doing.

Like everything else in Vietnam, the price seems to be somewhat negotiable. Do not confuse this hotel with the "Lucky Hotel" and "Lucky Hotel 2."
