Staff here were very friendly and helpful, both before we arrived by email, sorting out a tour to Halong Bay, and when we arrived in person. Room was nice and clean and pretty good value. We were met with hot tea and smiling faces which is great after a long journey. We also stayed at their other hotel (Hanoi Guesthouse on Ma May) as they were fully booked the second night we wanted to stay, which was just as good and they paid for our taxi to get there.

A warm welcome in a quiet corner of Old Hanoi

There are 2 outstanding features of this hotel. First is the warmth and friendliness of all of its staff, from managers to waiters to housekeepers!! The second is its location off the main streets, away from the noise and hustle. Smiles and hellos when you walk down the street but no aggressive touting! Close to great cafes and restaurants. This hotel is clean and comfortable, with a very nice breakfast options. A great value and I've already noted it for a return visit!
Restaurant Tip:
Check out the Ninh Cafe for coffee and the restaurant ... 6 on Sixteen .... for a lovely dinner.

Brilliant Hotel

Room was clean and what is expected from a 2* hotel. No noise issues. Lovely breakfast. Fantastic location.
Service here is exceptional. Staff went out of their way to help, without doubt the best service from any hotel I have stayed in.
Highly recommended as a place to stay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Recommend organizing tours here as costs were competitive to other tour agencies in Hanoi.

hotel is very helpful with tour arrangements and pickups. the great breakfast service was great. the shower facility provided after checkout prior and after tours to sapa and halong bay was much appreciated. do take note about noise at sapa summit hotel (one of tour hotel options) as it is under renovation with a new building being built next door.
Restaurant Tip:
restaurant 22 which is within walking distance was great with affordable and good food. the orange duck was simply delicious.

Service, the staff were very eager to please. The breakfast was the best of our 2 weeks stay in south asia.

the location is excellent. on a little cul de sac so not as much street noise, but in the old part of hanoi and within easy walking distance of the major attractions. the rooms were very clean and comfortable. the deluxe room wasn't available at checkin and they refunded the difference without our asking.

Bang for buck with breaky

We got a freest deal to begin with and when we arrived we wee informed no small rooms were available so we had to be upgraded for free to a family size room. Desk service was friendly and helpful. Location is a short walk from the lake and local markets and restaurants.
Would stay here again especially if you are on a tight budget.

Go to Gecko restaurant and order yourself a fried fish rice paper roll

this hotel was a lifesaver. we came into hanoi at the end of a two week journey and wanted a nice break, and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. it was recommended to me by my friend who lives in hanoi and i was very happy with it. we desperately needed flexibility the last day given that we had partied hard the night before and were flying out late in the day; the hotel accommodated all of our needs.

Charming and basic in Old part of town
Located in the hecticly busy old part of the city close to markets, shops and cheap restaurants. Clean

the staff are very firendly and efficient. they have a taxi chap to take you to the airport - prepaid. rooms are smallish with tiny windows. strip lighting - some of the lights don't work. hot water boiler in the bathroom heated up quickly.
adequate breakfast included, you get a small baguette with either eggs or butter & jam or chinese food.
Restaurant Tip:
Staff directed me to the Old Hanoi Restaurant mentioned in Lonely Planet. Excellent food, cheap and you can always get a seat.
