Good location
Friendly staff
Room extremely damp
Decor shaby and dated
Breakfast not very good
We have been travelling now for some months and this is by far the biggest dissapointment we have had with a hotel. The 'suite' was basic and long overdue an update. There was no storage for clothes and no sitting area, not even a chair. There was a lot of noise from creaking water pipes and a very noisy fridge. The greatest problem was the severe damp which made everything saturated within a couple of days - bed linen, our clothes and paperwork were all very damp. The room smelt very damp too. The only positive things were the good location and the friendly staff.
Restaurant Tip : Great Pho just around the corner for next to nothing. just don't step on the dead rats on the way!

Location, facing a noisy bustling road and highway
Basically everything was okay. After 1-night stay in a miserable queen sized bed room (I have requested a king sized on my internet booking), they changed for us a deluxe suite for the next 2 nights. No problem staying here with old folks as the hotel has a well maintained elevator. Overall it is very well valued for money and hassle free booking via Agoda.

Friendly staff, although only about 3 staff can speak moderate English, no hard selling of tour packages to us and almost all will put on a friendly smile whenever come in contact. The rooms are clean and considered luxury as a 3-star rated hotel. By the way breakfast provided is simple and basic. Overall it is well recommended.

Free Internet, Free Breakfast, Nice People
The Rooms smell of mold and mildew. Noisy, Dirty, Run Down, Bad Area of Town.
It's a shame this hotel is such a mess. The people who run it are so nice. The beds do not have proper linens. There is no mattress cover, just one thin sheet over the bare mattress, and no top sheet, just a comforter, which obviously has been on someone elses body, since you cannot wash down comforters. Also, there were no curtains on the windows. If you wanted to change clothes, you have to open the window, close the woodens shudders that hang outside the building, then change. After, you would have to reopen them, because they block all light--and air--and there is no air conditioning in the rooms. It really was nothing like the picture I saw. If the people weren't so nice, I would have really raised a fuss, and probably left to another hotel.
Travel tip : Go to a different hotel. This one is far below Western standards of cleanliness

Hotel is right next to the old quarter with all its shops, bars and restaurants.
On arrival we were told that the room we had paid for was unavailable and we were taken to another hotel and provided with a basic room in contrast to the deluxe we paid for. The shower in the bathroom did not work properly and we were unable to have a shower. The same thing happened to another couple who arrived at the same time and we met another couple who the same thing had happened to them the night before.
The Hanoi Old Quarter is right next to the old quarter of Hanoi. We were able to walk to all the shops, bars, restaurants and tour offices.
On arrival were were greeted warmly and provided with coffee before being told along with another couple that the deluxe rooms we had paid for were unavailable.
We were taken to another hotel for the night where we were provided with a basic room and a shower that didn't work.
The next day we were given a very large comfortable room. We also had a heated toilet seat which was very pleasant given that Hanoi was having unseasonal cold weather. However, although the shower was impressive with sauna facilities, the water didn't run away properly.
Breakfast was limited but adequate.
Staff were friendly and did agree to pay for our laundry as compensation for the mix up with the rooms.

Staff and service!
Comfy beds
Cleanliness
old building, needs a little work
rooms facing the major road can be a bit noisy
Fantastic staff and service. Nothing was too difficult! the rooms were very clean, but the hotel itself is a little old and shabby and could use a little work. Very comfortable matresses, central old quarter location.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and we would reccomend the hotel as a good midrange option.
Shopping Tip : We travelled a fair bit in Vietnam, and i think Hanoi had the best prices for gifts etc, so even if it is you're first stop i reccomend shopping here.

Some staff were helpful after a very disappointing check-in and tried to charge us for taxi although it was included in the price when we booked.
Needs attention. Musty bathrooms.Water in shower went everywhere and flow was not consistent.
One day came for breakfast and there was no breakfast available - only coffee and some cold fried rice. Breakfasts were very disappointing.
Restaurant Tip : We were recommended a nice vietnamese restaurant nearby which we thought was very good.

Owner and staff push to sell tours
Owner and staff push to sell you tours that are overpriced. Charged $45 from airport in their minibus but only $20 by taxi. Charged 120,000 dong for taxi to station but really only 30,000 dong. If you want to be safe and looked after in a strange city don't stay here!

Nice staff that tried to be accommodating.
VERY noisy.
Uncomfortable bed.
We arrived around 10 pm and found that the hotel did not have the room we were meant to have. First showed a room on the second floor (family room) and it overlooked (eye level) an overpass. Then they showed us another room that was traditional Vietnamese with a bed harder than rocks. To their credit, they did move another bed into the room that was softer. However, it was SO noisy there, we only got about 4 hours sleep and were exhausted. After hearing from a couple who had a room in the back (and it was noisy also), we checked out. Management was not happy that we left.
Hotel Feature Tip : Liked roaming in the Old Quarter, but the French Quarter was easier to deal with.

Very good service. Owner cares very good customer.
Expensive than others. Difficult for disabled parking. Electrical appliances in rooms not complete. Some not available?
The hotel is safe for tourists. Owners and employees devoted to customer service and very good. But be that much more expensive that other machines and ใ. Electrical Exhibition in room quietly beside a problem. What is not perfect condition. Parking is quite difficult because. it is a day. This rating is 65% na ka.
Shopping Tip : Vietnam will have a night market in the road only 36 lines open Friday - Saturday for that is that the road to 36 lines of very daytime weather is not hot. Bonus of a lovely novel of the island.
