Hanoi Palace Hotel, Hanoi

I've just spent two nights at Hanoi Palace Hotel and can recommend it very highly. The hotel is situated in the heart of the Old Quarter so everywhere is within walking distance, if you can cope with the hectic streets. I am confidently to recommend this hotel to every one because some special reasons as follow: First, The manager and all of the staffs were exceptional - they could not have been more helpful and friendly. They ask you how your day was and how you slept, and they smile which I found rare in some hotels. I had read some other bad reviews relate to this hotel before but I think it never true after 2 day stay. Every one is great and helpful. Second, The rooms are quite big and cozy.My room have private computer conecting to Internet, DVD player, a/c and a big bed. The only problem was that my room at the second floor so the noise from Disco always disturb me until 12:00 PM. But it's ok for me. After I this problem to the staff they changed room for me immediately to higher floor. Great! Every time when i come back from a trip the staffs alway welcome me with a smile put on the friendly faces. Asked about my trip and explain every my question very clearly. The Hotel is located in great location, right in the center of old Hanoi. You can walk to the water puppet theater in 5-10 min, there is a good massage salon (SF Spa - 5min walk) and there are a lot of good restaurants nearby (green tangerine, cha ca la vong, highway 69...etc).. Fantastic breakfast in a lovely restaurant served by good lady chef (Sorry I can remember the name). Tip, book a car pick up at hotel for a very reasonable price (at 15USD). Other services also provided by hotel that cheaper than outside and do not worry about the price. I am looking forward to returning to the the hotel again in my next trip on October. I was moved to another hotel by hotel supervisor but luckily not too far from the first one. Overall hotel is so standard but close to major attraction.

Booked online. Rates different and confusing on different website. Did not get city view room as paid for due to different classification of rooms by hotel and Agoda. Negative reviews found untrue - breakfast spread simple but staff will fry eggs/omellete any time; disco noise comes from neighbouring establishment.
