Nothing positive can be said.
All standard rooms are without window.Breakfast is always cold and not very much left after the staff have eaten. Not very clean!
If this is a three star hotel,it must be their own opinion.Nowhere are the "stars" to be seen, like at the entrance e.g.In my opinion a one star hotel,i give them a plus for the location. But there are lots of hotel nearby,so i am sure one can find a better one for the same price. And nowhere is mentioned that the standard rooms do not come with a window.I believe them, when they say it´s only three years old.But it looks like 30,or at least 13.Of the breakfast was not much left after the staff had eaten.I was there one morning around 7.30 watching!
Hotel Feature Tip : Change hotel, there are lots of them nearby!!

favorable location, reasonable price, friendly staffs
the food in hotel is good but price is higher than the cafe shnearby...it is good that they offer free breakfast.
The hotel is good although it is small like many other hotels in the old town Hanoi. However, it is in a convenient location in the central Hanoi, where you can find and explore various special Hanoi food just a few minutes walk, watch the shops and enjoy the fresh air and the romatic path near the lake. Although it is small, the hotel room is OK with facilities like bath tube, air con, TV...The receptionist is a typical Hanoi person, nice and polite. Other persons are also nice.

The service was excellent. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money.
It is in a busy and noisy area so if you have a room at the front of the hotel you are likely to be disturbed by traffic noise. Especially since the Vietnamese are constantly honking their horns. Also the restaurant is right next to a smelly and unhygenic state.
We arrived early to the hotel after a long night and a flight from Bangkok. The check-in staff were helpful and kind enough to give us a room to rest in until ours was ready.
The room we were given was spacious, clean, and comfortable. However, we could not sleep in there as there was the constant noise of traffic from the beeping motorbikes and cars outside. We informed the staff of this and they moved us to the back of the hotel straight away. As this was in low-season it was easy to do but if the hotel were fully booked it would not have been possible. Moreover, they only have twin rooms at the back and not double, but this did not worry us too much.
We booked a tour through the hotel to Ha Long Bay, which turned out to be overpriced (which we thought it would be booking through the hotel) and hugely disappointing. The tour guide was terrible, the boat was not of the standard we were expecting (we had been shown pictures of a different boat), and we were messed about from start to finish. We had another trip booked through the hotel to Sapa, which we decided to cancel for fear of the same poor standard of service, and managed to recoup some of the money from that trip.
Overall, I would stay in this hotel again, but only if I was guaranteed a back room, and I definately would not book a tour with them.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Right in the middle of the Old Quarter and near to a large lake.

The rooms were clean and neat in a dusty street near Ho Hoan Kiem. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Free internet access was available
Breakfast was miserably little for 3 out of 5 days. Tours recommended were not professional enough, operator trying skip visits listed in the programme to Halong Bay.
HPH provided adequate facilities for the rates charged - internet access, kettle to boil water, cooler box for drinks and clean beds and toilets.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. The tours recommended were satisfactory. The operator was skipping visit to Titov Island to view sun set and swimming option until another tourist insisted of going. It was a pleasant stay in a busy and dusty location.
Restaurant Tip : Restaurants were not displayed clearly. Often only 1-3 tables set in the ground floor while nice tables were distributed at upper storeys. It gave the impression that they were not many nice eating places

Great location in the Old Quarters.
Inner rooms are like tombs.
Rooms overlooking the street are the best option to stay here. Roomy, clean. A/C works great. Have a few TV English channels to choose from.
Do not encourage anyone to stay in the coffin inner rooms. Pay a little more and get street front.
English is someone what limited but they make an effort to please.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Perfect location to experience life around the Old Quarter/Hoen Kiem Lake

Nice location in Old Quater, and service-minded staff. Good with elevator. Clean. Internet computers in lobby.
Rooms are quite small, standard rooms tiny, so we got the deluxe which wasn't luxury at all, but decent space and regular features. Small matters, like missing light bulbs, needed to be brought to attention.
Heard about this hotel from friends, and it turned out well. As with most buildings in old Hanoi it is located in a narrow building, so it was easy to bypass even when looking for it. Rooms are small, even the Deluxe ones so if you have any tendency towards claustrophobia you should stay away from the Standard rooms. Breakfast was a simple but ok story with toast, a few veggies, omelette and noodles/rice.

Perfect location in the heart of the old quarter
bad beds and bad breakfast
Last time we stayed here they put us in the attic! But we decide to give them another chance and this time we liked it. The location is super and the hotel feels clean. The breakfast is really bad, but if you ask them they will make extra eggs for you, and even some freshly pressed juice! The beds in the rooms are really bad, and we have traveled a lot in Asia and know what to expect. These are not even hard, it is just that you can feel every spring and when you turn it feels like sleeping on a bed of nails! Part from that, a great hotel!

clean; friendly staff; located in center of the city. good cable internet connection
not all staff can speak English; breakfast not so palatable
For a couple of days stya to discover Hanoi by night, Hanoi Plaza Hotel is a good choice. You can explore the old quarters by foot and discover smaller alleys and streets. You can also easily jog between 5 and 6 in the morning around Hoakiem Lake.
Breakfast though is not so inviting but there are loads of French bakeries around and coffee shops selling good quality coffee.

It's convenient to walk around the old corner. The staff are friendly and they can book trips for you. There are two computers connected to the internet near the reception you can use for free.
It's noisy on the first night because the corridor is really narrow and I could hear people walking heavily and talking loudly there. I could hear the lift going up and down. there are no windows in my room. The TV doesn't work and the shower towels are dirty. No kettle in the room to boil hot water.
On the whole, it is fine for the price I paid. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are computers connected to the internet near the reception you can use for free. The room conditions were OK, but the shower towels are dirty and there was no kettle to boil hot water in the room. Maybe the corridor is narrow so I could hear people talking, walking after midnight. I could also hear the lift and there are no windows in my room. The TV doesn't work in my room, with only picture,no sound. I was not a big fan of TV so it didn't bother me.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I booked a one day tour with this hotel. I found a cheaper deal with another agent the next day. The hotel staff said the tour i took was with a small group and better service. So before you book a trip, you can always ask them about different agents' fees. there might be about a few dollars less between travel agents.

It's a safe and a warm place for settle~
I have found some ants in the washroom, but it could be accept cause i understand it's not a 5 star hotel but they already do the best...yeah...the door of the room also can't open very well, hope they would have some improvement on it...
All staff are very nice and professional~ they will treat you like a family member, and teach you how to travel in a safe way,eg;they will tell you only aboard to those taxi the driver only wear in suit...and they are pleasure to take you to a place you don't know how to go,certainly it must be after there office hour~
Also, there Ha Long Bay tour is also okay to join, and there hot water supply is well now!!For the breakfast , i just can say it's fair, not too bad and not surprise, but it's enough for me as a early breakfast~~
Restaurant Tip : just found a good restaurant call "Kiti" which in front of the hotel...not far then 5 mins walk,it seem between"Hang Hom" street, the food and staff both very good~

Night concierge made an effort to be helpful.
Dirty sheets - eeeuw! Unhelpful breakfast staff (asked/motioned/used sign language for a glass and got nothing, no response). Breakfast limited but would have benefited from being open at 7 am as promised (left for a tour at 8 am and was difficult to eat anything).
The more expensive room with a balcony was not available (we paid extra for this). We discovered long and short hair in our sheets. It was almost midnight and we asked the night concierge for a clean sheet so we could re-make the bed (didn't want to make a fuss as it was so late) but instead he moved us to another room. This room was worse - we pulled back the blankets and discovered a SOUP SPOON(one of those white ones) in the bed, along with more hair. Was so upset I slept on my dress, decided to photograph the spoon/hair and show them in the morning. Left hotel in morning and showed spoon. Concierge looked confused and ashamed (not his fault). When we arrived back from our tour we spoke to the manager, he gave us another room, checked sheets, still dirty. Were shown 2 other rooms, also dirty. Apparently his cleaning staff had quit just before the new year holidays (TET) and the sheets had clearly not been washed. Yuck. Moved us to one of his other hotels, slightly nicer, sheets clean, still no balcony. Thought hotels would be busy during TET but there were vacancies in more centrally located hotels. This one would have been OK if sheets were clean, but could probably do better for the money.
Hotel Feature Tip : Hotel is withing walking distance to the lake - this is where the puppet show and shops/cafes etc are located.

Location, friendly staff, ATM machine on steps, free internet in the room.
Good two star hotel. The staff here are friendly, particularly John the manager, who made sure we had a map and knew where the areas of interest were before we left for our first wander. We were in a room up the front with a balcony (it was noisy, but we had earplugs!) to watch the old quarter come to life. Big plus for location. Good beds, clean linen, towels old but clean. HSBC ATM on front steps (literally). Breakfast adequate though you need to get down about 7.20 for the fullest choice. Not at all pushy about tours either and really helpful with taxis, transfers etc (a little pricey but when you first land it's worth getting them to arrange it - just email them).
Restaurant Tip : The Little Hanoi on 'Silk St' - quite good food and reasonable prices. Good spot to watch the evening traffic.
