Remodelled to vastly improve, good location

The hotel is improved from the previous one at the same location. Ther room had free internet and was comfortable and clean. The toilet and shower were also very good. The staff was helpful and courteous, assisting with bagage and taxis, and providing a quality buffet breakfast including cooked food. the construction next door began at 7:00 which did not bother me, but may affect others. Overall, a great little hotel for the cost and in a great location. I will stay here again the next time in Hanoi.

nice hotel, very helpful staff. rooms are a good size and well decorated.
unfortunately during our stay the next door neighbour was renovating and it appears to be acceptable to start drilling at 6 am in vietnam....

Noise, noise, chancers and poor hygiene!

The hotel itself is ok - some slightly odd design features but that's a matter of personal taste. We stayed in the Royal View suite which should have been great. It's got a decent sized bedroom with flat screen tv and a large balcony (sadly no furniture), modern bathroom and lounge with 2 leather sofas, another flat screen tv and a rather elderly laptop. Breakfast was pretty poor consisting of fried bits of chicken, tasteless bread and pho (which was rather nice). We were totally put off breakfast, however, when we saw the chef go into the bathroom which is beside the kitchen, come out to the sink area which is in full view of the dining room, fiddle around with his nose and then walk back to the kitchen without washing his hands.
We asked one of the hotel staff to book a taxi to the airport for us. When we arrived he'd told us the 18 USD we'd been charged on the way there was too much & he could have arranged it for 15 USD. However, when we asked him to confirm the cost of the taxi he's arranged for us back to the airport, after a pause he said 18 USD!!! He quickly changed his mind when I reminded him of our earlier conversation - chancer! It's not much money but no one likes to be ripped off, particularly not by hotel staff who should be trying to make your experience a pleasant one.

Great location but very noisy

As next door was under renovation, there was very loud drilling noise as early as 730am... very bad. But other than the noise, location is good, staff is really friendly.
I will go back again

Perfectly located hotel in Hanoi
situated ‘on the edge’ of the old town and the hoa kim lake, everything within walking distance.

good hotel with spacious room (3 beds) – rear is without views. room is clean and neat. staff is very friendly and helpful with arranging train – taxi et cetera. the breakfast buffet has sufficient choice (vietnamese and western). we were very happy with this choice of hotel.

if its your birthday just tell them you get a cake.
my 1 year old daughter got cake in the morning but sadly she was not well and we had to leave early
overall good value for money for family even though it is not 5 star but i would give it a high rated 3 star

The staff at the Hanoi Royal View Hotel are second to none. They went above and beyond to offer exceptional service, were extremely helpful and always smiling :)
The rooms were spacious and very clean.

the hotel has been just renovated. it was a pleasant stay.
moreover, they upgraded our room for free! the staffs had been
very accommodating giving us tips on where and what to eat.
the location was good too, in the middle of the old quarter where
you can just walk to the many attractions nearby.
overall, the room was clean, comfortable and cool!
we would stay here again if we come back to hanoi.
