Staff were good with service-minded, willing to help and answer all questions I asked.
It's very noisy from motocycles in front of the hotel. You need to ask for the higher floor in order to avoid the noise.
The hotel is locate at the heart of the old quater, close to many shops, night market, water puppet theater, etc. In my opinion, it's the best hotel in the area(after I checked other hotels in that area). Staff were very friendly and helpful. I have the room at the highest floor which I asked for when I made booking. Room is nice and clean, breakfast is good but not the best one.Internet is free of charge at lobby. I'll stay in this hotel again if I go back to Hanoi.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the hotel is located at the old quater, Hanoi.
yuo can make youe shopping quite easy both day and night. walking distance to water puppet theater.

Location, location, location. It's located right in the middle of Old Quarter. The hotel was also very clean, friendly staff and great value (for the price, you get breakfast, great location, Internet connection, etc)
None that I can think of!
This is one of the best value-for-money hotels that I have stayed in. It is clean and located in a very central location. The staff are also very friendly. For the price I paid, I got Internet connection and breakfast. The hotel breakfast is not that great but it was sufficient. The room is rather small but the bed is quite comfortable. The bathroom is pretty clean.

Smack right in the middle of Old Quarters, convenient and near to all amenities.
Nice room, nice toilet.
Laundry is across from the hotel, at VND15,000 per kg. Cheap!!!
Market is just across the road, so can get fresh fruits, coffee and other wonderful vietnamese stuffs.
Shops are aplenty.
Highly recommend this hotel!
Windows are there, but locked and frosted! So cannot see anything from room! But room is useful to know whether it's day or night.
Hard to find convenience store!
Nice 3* hotel, highly recommend this hotel. Good locations, convenient to all shops, amenities, food! Wet market is just outside the hotel, nice to feel the vibrancy of the city with the locals around your hotel. 5 minutes’ walk to the lake!
Nice-sized room, clean. Good toilet, shower areas. Complete toilet amenities with bathrobe and slippers. Complimentary water, fruits daily.
Reception is friendly and accommodating.
Laundry service is convenient, just outside the hotel, with good rates at VND15,000 per kg (less than USD1).
Breakfast on 8th floor, but basic standard!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk to the lake in the morning to capture and feel the vibrancy and essence of the city. It's a nice run/walk around the lake in the morning, about 1.7 km one round!

The rooms are nice clean and comfy
It was my first visit to Hanoi- and the staff really helped me with getting around town and seeing the best sites. By getting a taxi through the hotel it insured me that we would not get ripped off by the local cabs. ( which does happen)
The staff was so nice and spoke English very well. The rooms were a welcome site after a long day. Breakfast was pretty good also!
Travel tip : have the hotel call for your taxi!

Nice view of the Old Quarter from the restaurant and free internet.
We were a bit shocked at first to find this hotel that was almost invisible from the outside. But once we were inside, the interior was not too bad. We got sent up to our room which had no windows. Well, there was actually a window but it was blocked off by next door building. So we were moved to a different room which was a bit better and a lot brighter. The restaurant had nice view although buffet breakfast was a bit lack of variety. The girl at the tour desk was helpful and booked us a tour to Halong Bay . Overall stay was OK and I think I would recommend this hotel for singles or family with budget.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Be sure to visit Halong Bay and stay at least a night on the junk boat as it was very relaxing and the view was spectacular!

position, good staff performance, cleanliness,
good restaurant
A very good well run hotel in the heart of the old quarter, with very helpful staff. The hotel is very clean and well decorated. I found the food in the restaurant very good. The internet is free but a little slow until after 8 pm. I found the travel service in the hotel foyer very helpful. Although the hotel is in the center of the old quarter my room was very quiet
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : use the travel service in the hotel to book sight seeing tours

Fantastic staff
Good location close to lake and park
Great view from the 8th floor for breakfast
Showing its age slightly carpets could do with an upgrade
Coming into the hotel lobby after the choas outside was very welcoming and the staff made this even better. They were very helpful and booked us in very quickly even though the hour was late. They had also arranged for a taxi from the airport for us which made our journey even more smooth. The hotel is right in the old quarter which is a fasinating place and only a short stroll to the lake where early in the morning you can catch the locals doing their exercises. The room was adequate for our needs though a little bit squeezy as we had three beds. Airconditioning always worked and the hot water was plentiful so no complaints there. Overall a great place to stay.
Hotel Feature Tip : We were able to check out late by booking the room to 6pm for US$30 and when that was not possible pay US$10 to have the use of a room for a shower before catching our flight.

Good location! Good price! Providing daily fruits.
The restaurant needs some improvement in food.
It locate at Hoan Kiem Lake. The restaurant has a good view of the city. Shopping and other
activities are near by. Almost everything is withing walking distance. Of course, your business
may need transportation to other places. The
traffic is OK. But not a great item. With the
price like that, I would come back again.

Clean, comfortable, terrific location
Small room, limited staff help
We were only here for one night, a stepping stone to Halong Bay! Our room was small but clean and nicely decorated, fine for one night. The location in the Old Quarter was terrific! The staff was helpful with some things, like clearing up an issue with a plane flight, and not others. We asked for a train station pick-up after a 14 hour train trip but none was available. We ended up being victims of taxi fraud! When we asked for help getting our luggage one and a half blocks the following morning, we were told that there was not enough staff again. We asked for an early check-in which could not be accommodated so after our verbal fight with the taxi driver, we had to sit in the lobby for a couple of hours! But, regardless, it was a great stop and I would recommend it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use "Handspan" for your sightseeing arrangements to Halong Bay or other points! It is close by!

Fantastic location, nice big rooms, good breakfast with lots of variety, free internet in lobby, fantastic helful and friendly staff
Travel agent at the front was very expensive
The only complaint we had with this hotel was the expense of the tours we booked with the travel agent especially those for other cities and the junk boat for Halong Bay was in terrible condition. The actual hotel itself is in a great location, the rooms are excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the buffet breakfast is nothing special but lots of variety and freshly cooked eggs to order. We did not eat in the restuarant other than breakfast so I can't comment on other food. I would definately stay here again.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Banana Blossom salad in at any traditional vietnamese restuarant - awesome!

Best location if you're visiting the Old Quarter. Well spoken english staff. Complimentary tea and coffee in the hotel room.
Unfortunately, the only downfall of this stay was finding a little surprise upon opening a packet of cotton buds to find they were USED!
Hoa Binh is located in the heart of the Old Quarter, which is perfect for shopping in Hanoi. The room ambiance gave a old european feel to it. The staff were helpful and provided guidance to being safe in Hanoi. The breakfast buffet was not to die for, but the overall stay was pleasant, except for the surprise of opening a packet of cotton buds, to find out they were used.

The suite was exactly as pictured on the internet. The hotel is located in the old quarter and just a 10 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. Le Pub next door with the coldest beers in Viet Nam!! Lots of choices where to eat, shop and book travel. The buffet breakfast (omelettes and eggs by request) was more than adequate (compared to Europe) and having dined in the 8th floor restaurant the wine was very reasonably priced and the food was good value. And don't forget the free internet in the lobby. The front desk currency exchange rate was also very good.
The smell of mould when we entered the suite was more than obvious. Although it had mostly gone after 2 days it was only because we left the windows open. The problem was the carpet that was due for replacement 20 years ago!! This was our main criticism of the hotel. Also, the reception desk staff did not ask us if we had enjoyed our stay and did not wish us goodbye.
The room was great value for what we paid, pity about the carpet. An ideal location if you don't mind walking. The trafic was a problem at first but then you realise - "that's life". Then you just go next door to Le Pub and enjoy it all with a very cold beer.
Restaurant Tip : Le Pub next door has the coldest beer in Viet Nam and there are "other" places to eat in the same street that are great value. We tried them all.
