- located in the old quarter, not far from the lake
- reasonable pricing for food, drinks, laundry
- breakfast not really good
I stayed in Hong Ngoc for 10 days. The hotel is very well suited for exploring the old quarter, also the french quarter is in walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is served until 10am. It seems, that after 9am the plates on the buffet are not refilled any more. Not very many choices also.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Not far from the hotel, by the lake, there is the water puppet theater. This definitely is worth a visit.

Very clean and friendly staff.
I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They provided timely wake up calls and had a fixed price for a cab to the airport. The location was excellent -- close to many restaurants and not far from the lake. They had free internet access and many English TV channels. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Convenient location, clean hotel and clean room.
I don't like they keep your passport until you leave, but I guess that's the normal practice in all Vietnamese hotels.
The hotel is located in the old town area, which is the major attraction of Hanoi. Almost all the tourists choose to stay in this area, since you can wander around in the narrow streets nearby and feel the exotic atmosphere which you can't find anywhere else. The Hoan Kiem Lake is within walking distance. My room is clean, quiet and confortable, with 24-hour hot water supply. The room has a window, though it does not open to the outside, but to the light well in the middle of the building.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walking out of the hotel and just wandering in any direction.
