Good airconditioning and decent location for Hanoi
Fairly average customer service and leaking airconditioner. Long walk up the stairs to the rooms in the elevator is broken.
The Hotel was clean enough but the beds were incredibly hard and very uncomfortable. The airconditioning is TOO cold and we could not adjust it. The staff are sort of friendly. The safe in our room was broken. The breakfast waas average and NOT included in our room despite the expensiveness of the room in comparison to other hotels. But overall it could have been worse, it was classy in appearance and clea enough. The showers were not hot enough and you have to stand in the bath and crouch if tall to get under the shower tap.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go and visit the Lake. Theres a cool island with a museum. There's a preserved giant turtle there and a plaque explaining the legends of the Lake. It costs 300 dong to visits ($30c AUD) and take an umbrella and a camera.

Excellent breakfast included, friendly staff and close to all the shops and cafes
Disappointed to find our De Luxe room was two single beds TIED TOGETHER and at the back of the hotel. It was only on our insistence that we had a proper De Luxe front room the following night.
The Nong Ngoc is an excellent hotel to stay in as it is at the hub of busy Hanoi. It is furnished beautifully and the facilities are excellent with very helpful staff. We were able to walk to all the tourist spots as well as the lovely Lakes in and around the city.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Walk around the old sector and experience Hanoi as it once was with its busy markets.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean.
Not sure about the other rooms, but my room and the same room on all floors had only one window that faced the stairwell. If you weren't careful, you'd have someone looking at you by accident when you walked out of the shower, like I did.
Except for the window incident, I really have no complaints with this hotel. It's in a great location, the staff is fantastic (the manager always hooked me up with good deals on the transportation, as well as advice), and the rooms are very nice for the price. I'd stay there again if I ever get a chance to return.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you hit the water puppet theater (just a few blocks from the hotel). It's a completely enchanting and wonderful cultural experience.
