Next to Hoang Khiem lake, Hong Gai Street & the old Quarter (main tourist shopping area).
When leaving early morning the nightwatchman demands you pay him 250,000VND for your airport taxi, when it only costs 180,000VND. This is normal procedure in most mini-hotels.
It is well located next to (<100m to) Hoang Khiem lake, Hong Gai Street & the old Quarter (the main tourist shopping area). The staff are all very friendly, helpful and speak reasonably to good English. They know Ha Noi, such they can direct you to anything that is available; like getting straps on your packs and bum bags fixed. Leaving extra gear in hotel until you return. The hotel is confortable with verything working in the hotel, although not ultra modern but good value. All hotels have something you dont like, my con can be negated by talking and arranging early morning taxi through the manager.
Shopping Tip : Walk along Hong Gai Street and around Hoang Khiem Lake and the old quarter for Ha Noi curios.

Close to all the tourist shopping areas and Hoang Kiem Lake in Hanoi. It is an oldist style hotel, but everything works, staff very helpful and sometimes too helpful. Good breakfast included (both Western & Vietnamese style) and free internet. Rooms are of OK size with cable TV. The in room safe is not bolted down to anything so you can pick it up and carry it away, which is not very good.
Shopping Tip : Tourist shopping areas very close.

It is an older Hotel so some things may not work quite as you may like.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel clean and as well presented as possible. Beds very comfort, good cold air conditioning. Breakfast and good limited selection for everyone - try the Hanoi Pho, which they get off the street for you. Less than 5 minute walk to tourist and souvenir shops and Hoang Khiem Lake (the centre of Hanoi). You want something fixed - ask the staff to help you!!
