We feel that the staff were very unfriendly and not very helpful (this may be due to language barrier - but we have not had problems in other hotels where they do not speak English).
We booked online and were not given the room we booked - were only moved after multiple enquiries on our behalf. We were then upgraded to the Junior Suite - room was large and comfortable, however the shower leaked.
The hotel seems to be undergoing renovations, and was not the most enjoyable place to stay.
We booked online and got a cheap deal so we were not disappointed with what we had paid. We would have been extremely unhappy had we paid full price. There are far more cheaper and nicer hotels in the area

This is the third time I've stayed at Mai hotel, and it is all fantastic! This one is in great, safe neighborhoods, walking distances to many of the exciting things to do there. The staff - all of them! - are so friendly and helpful and eager to go out of their way to make you feel like you're one the most important guests in the hotel. The price is unbeatable in Hanoi for the room provided. Breakfasts are included and quite good.
