I had to make 2 bookings at this hotel because we arrive on 26 Dec and went on a Halong Bay cruise 27-28 Dec. Since there is no way to make a split booking online, I booked for another 2 nights. Check in was fine. We arrived early and was warmly welcomed by friendly staff. Was offered tea/office while we waited for our room to be cleaned. But I have 2 complaints - first to Agoda. The family deluxe room had a double bed and a single bed but it was listed as maximum 2 persons but an additional (chargable) bed can be booked. So I booked and paid for an additional bed only to find out I need not.
2nd Complaint - When we returned back from our cruise, we lost our room! We were told that a entire floor was without electricity and water and so we cannot have a room for the night. We went to every floor to check without them knowing and could not find any floor w/o electricity. We were then offered another hotel nearby (all downgraded hotel) to stay for the night and maybe we can move back the next night. The 3 hotels are not of acceptable standard to us but we were too tired to look further. We stayed at the downgraded hotel next door which put 2 single beds together and said that it's a bed for 3. They even suggested our 17 year old son can sleep on the carpet! Upon our insistence, a additional bed finally arrived with a hard cheap mattress. We were moved back to the Rising Dragon hotel the next night and I suspect only after we showing our disapproval. That was a very unpleasant experience. Surely if anything goes wrong, we should be upgraded not downgraded.
Restaurant Tip:
Ask the hotel staff to write the name of the restaurant they recommend and not just accept "lots of those on the street behind the hotel". We ended up eating something we did not intend to but nobody there spoke English.

For breakfast,You could choose food from a menu.My room was big enough for three with street view, clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, clean and fantastic service
Service with a smil, cleanliness
8.3
Very nice 4 night stay with myself and my 2 day gathers. The rising dragon staff goes way out of their way to make everything and anything you need or want better. Extra room, no problem. Late departure, no problem. Birthday cake, no problem.
Far cleaner, larger and more hospitable than many 5 stars I have stayed at.
Travel tip:
Get the deluxe room!

Comfortable rooms and friendly service
rooms were very nice and the staff were helpful.
8.7
The location is good- a short walk from the lake and the main shopping areas. Not too noisy, even in a room onto the street on the second floor. The breakfast wasnt amazing but more than adequate. The only negative was the WiFi and the computer in the room didn't really work, and the shower could have been hotter.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't miss the Museum of Fine Arts. Nobody seems to go there - we had the huge place to ourselves. It's definitely worth a look.

location and a great breakfast included.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Room was and hotel in general were clean. Hot showers were not always available (we were four adults in one room), but didn't really cause a problem.
Restaurant Tip:
little hanoi cafe serves fantastic sandwiches and soups. prices are very reasonable.
