Best breakfast ever on our trip through Vietnam

plus: clean room, greatest breakfast buffet and additionally you can order what you want from the menu and it was very kindly served.
the lady from the reception gave us very good informations about the city, city map and - i am vegetarian - recommended us a great vegetarian restaurant which we never would have found on our own and it was delicious and extraordinary.
and: because they do not have computer for the internet, she gave us a laptop to surf in the internet in our hotel room.
minus: very small room under the roof - the hotel was completely booked - but we had booked a so called "superior room"...

Great hotel excellent service good location
Excellent value for money. Rooms are spacious, clean, ex. amenities. Great location.

on arrival there had been a mix up with our booking. we were escorted to a sister hotel and they made sure we were okay. next morning they returned and escorted us back. this is vietnam and our first experience turned out to be wonderful.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Get lost in the Old Quarter. Best way to explore. Rather than looking for something just let something find you. Why not?

Enjoyed the clean room. Helpful staff. Location was fantastically close to all the sights. Maps were plentiful and staff could help me get anywhere.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Hanoi streets are confusing and a bit crazy. We travel with young children and made sure each had a hotel card in their jacket pocket or inside their shoe in case we got seperated they could find help by showing the card.

It seemed to be a good value for money when we booked online but ended up to be a disappointment. We tried to check-in at 2am (we warned about the late check-in by email) only to found out that there were no rooms left. The hotel arranged rooms in another hotel.

Neat hotel located in not-so tidy neighborhood

Our first impression when the taxi stopped in the front of the hotel was: we have choosen a bad hotel.... The surroundings are a mess, the hotel is located in a very crowded small street. Buildings next to and in the front of it are dull, dirty, messy, etc. with only very few exception. The name "old quarter' are really looks old.
However, the Rising Dragon is one of the exception. Just after we enter the front door, it looks very different; clean and nice. Later we found out that this is the second Rising Dragon, not-so-long renovated, comprised two buildings with separate lift for each. The first Rising Dragon is located not so far from this second one.
Later on we found out that neighborhoods southern of the old quarter is much-much better.
The small tidy rooms are well equipped. Bathroom provide only few liters of hot water that make impossible for using its bathtub properly.
The staffs are young, charming and speak English very well; compare to two young drivers travelled with us who speak or understand no-english at all.

Recommend this hotel, really friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights and not once did they try to sell us a tour. All of the young women at the desk were knowledgeable and were happy to give advice and booked accommodation and a taxi for us when we were moving on. Cleaners ere really thorough too.

We had made a booking for this hotel, When they arrived the staff were really friendly, they sat us down and gave us a welcome drink and a food menu. So we ate some food and the staff gave us some info about Hanoi. But after being there for an hour they told us there was a problem with our booking and we had to go stay at their sister hotel. Normally this may not be a problem but we had arranged to meet our friends whom had also booked the same hotel. We explained this to the staff and eventually they suddenly had a room for us, after saying the hotel was full. Then when our friends arrived it was their booking that didn't work and then they had to go to another hotel. Obviously this defeated the ourpose of making the booking in the first place. Apart from this initial problem it was a great place to stay. Don't eat at the hotel other than breakfast.
