The French colonial-style Sofitel Hanoi Hotel building has stood proudly since 1901. Located in the heart of downtown Hanoi, the hotel has a rich history and a century-long tradition of welcoming ambassadors, writers, heads of state and entrepreneurs. It features a beautiful interior garden, excellent French cuisine at Le Beaulieu and Hanoi specialties at Spices Garden. Five function rooms, a swimming pool and fitness centre are also available for guests to use. The Sofitel Hanoi has been a celebrated landmark since the turn of the last century. Guests enjoy an oasis of charm, blending the hospitality of Vietnamese people with European luxury heritage.
Children at the Sofitel
The Sofitel does not charge children under 12 years of age if they are staying in a room occupied by parents and using the existing bedding. This is limited to one child per family, however, and additional fees will be charged should parents require a rollaway bed and free of charge for baby cot.
For children 3 years and below, breakfast is complimentary. For children between the ages of 3 and 12 breakfast is charged but at a special children’s rate, while those above 12 years of age are charged the same rate as an adult.

A large airy lounge bar with lounge bars overlooking the courtyard garden, Le Club Bar has always been the perfect venue for drinks with friends or colleagues. The poolside Bamboo Bar offers the perfect opportunity for some quiet relaxation.

This hotel is a classic, almost one of a kind. The service is top notch, the rooms good sized and comfortable. The decor is restrained and elegant. This is one of my top 5 favorite hotels in the worl. The only thing I don't like is that they charge for internet access. In this class of a hotel, a business traveler expects this service to be included in the room price. The Sofitel Metropole Hanoi Hotel is a first class hotel. Its within easy walking distance of the main attractions of Hanoi. The restaurants are excellent and the bar fun and lively. The hotel is split into 2 segments with a common pool/terrace area between. I found the spa a bit pricey but with a good range of services. The gym is included in the room price, but internet is not. Overall, this is one of my favorite hotels in the world.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : La Vertical is one of the best French restaurants in town. Amazing meals.

Great location with a great atmosphere From the moment you arrive you are aware of a warm welcome in impecable surroundings. The staff provide attentive service at all times. The bedrooms are very comfortable with super bathrooms. In house dining is terrific with lots of choice and good quality. The hotel has great location with shops and markets all within easy walking distance.
