Our three families arrived in Hanoi late evening on 20th September 2008 after a long and tiring bus trip from Nanning ,China and took three taxis to the hotel from where the bus stopped. In fact we have just made a booking for 1 room for 1 night only but decided to stay here for 3 nights, 3 rooms. During our three days stay at the hotel, we were overwhelmed by the superb service provided by the staff of the hotel who went all out to help us. Just look at the following end you will understand why we are saying so: •On arrival at the hotel ,we were greeted by the staff who made sure that we weren't overcharged by the three taxi drivers. •helped us to order food at a nearby restaurant as its workers couldn't speak English •One staff rushed to buy tickets for the water puppet show for us and offered to walk us there •made breakfast for us before 6am even though the normal time was 6am so that we could leave for the airport at 6:30am. The three rooms that we occupied were very neat and tidy. Everyday they were cleaned and new sets of toiletries were put in. Two of the rooms were equipped with computers and free internet service. Such facilities were also available in the hotel lobby. What about the location of the hotel? It is well situated in charming old Hanoi and is walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake and cultural/historical sites of the city. Having stayed in many hotels, we can say that this hotel is the best of the small hotels we have come across. Good price, very clean rooms and superb service. We will not hesitate to recommend it to our friends. Thank you for making our stay in Hanoi a very happy and memorable one.

We booked in and paid in advance for the Sunrise Hotel in Hanoi but when we got there they had booked our room with someone else and we didn't have a room. Then they made us walk in the pouring rain with our luggage at night to another sister hotel called the Blue Paradise and we got a small room that was not worth the money that we paid and did not have the amenities that we expected. The customer service was poor and we were very disappointed. I would not book here again as you do not get what you pay for. The only plus is the location which is near to the Lake and plenty of nice restaurants and shops.
- in a good area in Hanoi not too far from the lake
- very poor customer service
- Restaurant Tip : If you are staying in the area and craving Western food there is an excellent restaurant called Five run by a lovely Englishman right nearby.

The hotel was located in the Old Quarter; we had a nice room not very luxurious, but had air-conditioning, fridge and bathroom with bath. the staff was very helpful and comparing to the price we paid it was nice stay.
Although in the room there was not much traffic noise, the hotel is situated between two busy streets with much noise.
