Room was very clean, nice and large with balcony, cable TV and private bath-room with hot shower. good breakfast and lovely staff. We were really happy all the time stay at Sunrise Hotel Hanoi. We were lucky upgraded the luxury room on the 5th floor facing the street with big window and city views. Looking through the window we could see the Hoan Kiem lake and the proof of Hanoi Old- Quarter houses.The room looked very beautiful with modern style,flower wall, LCD TV, wifi, cable TV... evrything was spotless. The price included nice breakfast in the morning and tea or coffee all day. Staff was extremly friendly and pro. My wife and my children were very happy and of course me too. Love Sunrise Hotel so much.
P/S: We were really surprised with 2 bad reviews for this hotel. This hotel is the best one we have ever stayed in Hanoi before. We really could not understand why they did that?

Very nice/ spacious/ clean room. Breakfast was so good. fast Internet and great location. It is a valued hotel to stay. Our room is very beautiful, spacious and extremly clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was so nice and includes in the room rate. Hotel location was very perfect for travellers. We highly recommned this hotel for budget tourists.

Nice room and very friendly staff. Location and breakfast was also very very good A little bit noisy in early morning and we think it is the case for all the hotels in Hanoi. We were really satisfied all. Room was spacious and extremly clean. We stayed on 4th floor with balcony and city views. Air-con worked well, private toilet and cable TV. Staff was much better as they were so friendly and helpful. We booked the tour to Halong Bay which orgnized by the hotel with high quality and reasonable price. The hotel location was very convenient for foreigner like us because it was located in the central of Old- Quarter and close to Hoan Kiem Lake areas.

the smile of receptionist.... at our arrival, they showed us our room, number 101 on first floor near reception (supposed to be the booking of superior room!!!!) : no window, small bathroom, bad smell, stinking sinks, mushrooms on walls. quite delicious, but with the assurance that the drinks of fridge were free and the promise to have a better room next day. We actually preferred do change hotel directly (elegance hotel quite next door: cheaper, fruits every day, good breakfast, perfect reception and service, swiss cleanness...). sunrise promised to give us half of the refund back, which they of course never did. besides: the pick up taxi they arrange for you from hanoi airport to hotel is 50% more expensive that normal fare, and was present only half an hour after our arrival. conclusion: by any means, avoid the sunrise hotel. the total of negative points beside the only positive point makes the conclusion quite clear. the excellent geographical situation of the hotel in the old city quarter doesn't make any difference. there are plenty of really good hotels for same price or cheaper right around the corner. the best idea should be to go to places, see a few rooms and book then on place your preferred choice. to avoid noisiness, the choose of a room on backside is preferable.

Helpful staff, clean rooms, good location Hotel going through some renovations which caused them to shift guests to other places Overall quite good experience. Pho at breakfast was pretty good, other options so-so at best.
The hotel staff was really helpful in planning our visits of Vietnam but we feel like they did not do their best to organize it up to our expectations (e.g. quality of 2 out of 3 hotels we stayed in in other cities) or to the best price.
Restaurant Tip : Tamarind Café, in Ma May, has very good vegetarian food and also massages :)

no lift, noisy in the morning We were sent to another hotel called Blue Paradise as the room type that I booked with Sun Rise Hotel was full. Sunrise Hotel tried to persuade me to take up a lower grade room but compensate me with 2 bottles of water. That's rediculous. The room they offered to me was very small with no window. Due to my rejection, they sent me to another hotel-Blue Paradise. They arranged me a deluxe room, quite spacious, but very noisy in the morning as the windows facing the main street.

Great location, great price, and the consierge was very helpful in booking a great tour. The room could have been cleaner -- there was some trash and disorder beneath the bed and cabinets. This hotel was everything that it was advertised as being. It was in a great location in the old city part of Hanoi. There was easy access to the night market, points of interest, restaurants, and shopping. The consierge at the hotel was also very helpful in booking a tour for our group and arranging our ride to the airport. It was very convenient. I would go back again!
Restaurant Tip : Le Pub - good food and daily drink specials.

Room nice, clean and large. Fast Internet, good breakfast, helpful staff. Booking via Agoda.com and we stayed at Sunrise Hotel Hanoi, add 9 Hang Mam, Hanoi in early Oct 2009 for 2 nights and we really enjoyed our stay there. The manager and all staff were very helpful and kind. They looked after us like member in their family. Mr.Duc Anh was so generous to give us a free drop-off and tickets for Water Puppet. Thank you Duc Anh and Phi Phi as well for your kind help. The hotel is conveniently located to local shops and to city centre. The price was reasonable for a weekend trip to Halong Bay 2 days/ 1 night arranged by the hotel. The breakfast was half of buffet, very good and it included in the price. Everything about our stay at Sunrise Hotel was perfect.
Restaurant Tip : High way 4 just on the left hand of hotel ( 50ms) is a great restaurant.

The people working there are really friendly, useful and they actually try to help you (i.e. they tell you not only where the things are in Hanoi, but how much to pay for taxi to avoid scams, etc). Always making you feel comfortable. They are the real reason to go to this hotel The baths felt dirty, and the bed was old, with holes from previous clients who smoke. It was also in a 5th floor without elevator and with a *steep* stair. As I told above, the friendly staff is the real asset in this hotel. The rest, well, it's best to avoid it if you can. While they clean the rooms every day, they can't change that they are old, are in need of maintenance, the baths were poorly built and had flushing problems. For its you can get better deals in Hanoi.

Staff service, cleanliness, spacious room and breakfast. Staff service was excellent. Our hotel room was on the 3rd floor with balcony but we didn't use due to noise and pollution from the street. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Simple but delicious breakfast which the staff will prepare themselves in the morning. Highly recommended.

good hotel with good location and good price. the staff is very helpful and friendly but the bathroom little bit dirty.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : must visit Halong Bay, if you go for 2 days 1 night better over night on boat rather than on hotel at Cat ba island coz in cat ba nothing interesting, the city is very small.

Nice room, clean and friendly staff No kitchen and extra bed in my room. Hotel staff very helpful and allowed us to book in early so we could meet some friends for lunch. Clean and nice bedroom with air-con and private toilet. We had a full breakfast each morning and really good. Moreover the location is excellent and very convenient to exploit all the Hanoi Old Quarter on foot. Good hotel to stay!

Enjoyed our stay at Sunrise, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Balcony room was very spacious and clean. Good tv stations and air conditioning. Only short walk to the lake. Excellent price for the location and facilities with breakfast and internet included. Would stay there again.

Very helpful staff. Reasonable price. Very good location in Old town Hanoi Ongoing construction works on the street just in front of the hotel entrance. Problems with function of flushing in toilet. The hotel Sunrise is located in very convenient place in the center of Old town. Price is reasonable for good quality. The staff was very nice and helpful and arranged for us some special service (half day stay after return from Sapa trip for shower and rest - charged by only part of normal room rate, storing of our luggage during our three days Sapa trip, recommendation and arrangement of other accommodation for our following travel around Vietnam).

sunrise hotel is actually a small converted shophouse. the room is large and clean enough, but it can get quite noisy because of the bustling streets below. the staff were suspiciously over eager to recommend us various services, which turned out over-priced. however they were kind enough to hold our bags till it was time for our late night flight.
