They had available rooms.
This hotel is meant to be 4 star. It is a mediocre 3 star at best. The room were dirty and small, there was no free internet access, the "stunnign bar with panaromic views of the french riviera" is just the back of the dingy lobby with nbo natural daylight and expensive drinks.
Location is much farther away from the old town and lake than advertised - "10 minute walk". We walk fast and have no problems crossign the roads in Hanoi and it took us 20 mins to reach the lake. Take a taxi!! Food was very average.
The plaque in reception from the crew of Air Force One thanking the hotelk and staff must have been from a long time ago. The hotel is in serious need of a full revamp. They are aiming for 4 stars with the lobby/front entrance but the overall experience was disappointing. Luckily we only had on night here before a trip to Halong and another hotel in old quarter for 4 nights following. I would not stay here again unless there was not another bed in the city available.
Travel tip : You need a txi to get anywhere from this hotel. Better option is to stay somewhere more central. This is a stop over hotel at best - not one for experiencing the joys of Hanoi.

Far from the down town and small twin room
Nice to stay, the staffs were kind especially food servers...
But Little far and small to stay and expensive compare than other hotels...

I booked the Sunway as the comments on the Agoda site were positive, and our stay was exactly that. We had a lovely time staying in the property, the rooms were comfortable and service friendly and prompt.
With three children it would have been nice to have a pool.
We stayed two nights at the Sunway Hanoi, the location wasn't perfect for families but a really neat, tidy and friendly place to stay for a short stay. The hotel was in a quiet part of town and for business travellers it would be perfect, we had a family of five and the rooms were neat and comfortable and modern, although it would have been great to have a pool as it was hot! The gym was fantastic and business service centre very convenient, I assumed this would be a free service as it had been in all the other Agoda hotels, however the costs were minimal for the amount of time we spent there.
Restaurant Tip : Definitely visit Bobby Chinn's restaurant, not too far from here but a fantastic dinner option and a must see, great food, great coctails and a really individual atmosphere and menu! Restaurant 69 also a great eat!
