i have been here for a week, the price is accepable ,although only 2 star hotel, the decoration are totally new ,nice funitures.the staff are very nice! i have check others hotels in this area,none of them can compare with thaison ,which is low price and good envirment.

Very large and nice room. Towers and sheets are very clean. Lovely staff and great location

from the helpfull staff, to the high standard of the room and all the thoughtfull details, f.i. the decoration of the room and penhaligon toiletries, everything is perfect. thank you all staff for à birthdaytrip to remember. breakfast is so good. thaison is located in the heart of old- quarter ( a stone throw from the lake). booking the trip to sapa and halong bay via this hotel' travel desk and we can highly recommend it.

this is the second time we've stayed and reviewed this hotel, the last time was approximately 1 year ago but after staying last weekend we felt compelled to say it was amazing then and is equally amazing now. warm, welcoming staff where nothing is too much trouble. common areas are vibrant, the restaurant are particularly buzzy. rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. food all beautiful tasting and prompt, friendly service. what more can one ask for? i won't go on any further, you have to experience this true hanoi gem for yourself. well done thaison i hotel!
p/s: we had booked some trips via vietnam impressive travel and found them much more expensive and less qualified than this hotel travel desk. we recommend using this hotel as they do as a tours operator as well.

High-light Thaison Hotel I and perhaps this is the best hotel in Hanoi. We had checked out this hotel and stayed at others hotel but finally came back Thaison. Being the best among for price, nice room and staff. Great for all!

my family groups stayed in this hotel for 4 periods and we were really happy. we enjoyed the room the staff were friendly helpfull and our visit was great to hanoi and the hotel helped make our stay very nice we would stay again if we go back to hanoi :). golden zlotus cruise at halong bay was a very good boat. we booked via this hotel and found good rate and best cabin quality.

We stayed for 2 nights at the start of March 2011 in a deluxe room. can only echo the comments of the other reviews - this place is all round excellent. Things that havent been mentioned enough but are important to us were - after arriving at 8am (after 24 hour flight) we were immediately given our room for that night (we had only hoped for leaving our bags), breakfast was thrown into our stay, and it was of excellent quality each day, sleep quality was excellent and hotel very quiet. The room was so large with big window opening to the city views. Air-con worked so well. TV and bath-room were modern. Thank you Mr. Moki for our trip at Halong Bay, your Golden Lotus Cruise is the best cruise in Halong Bay. Our program was great, lovely cabin, good sea food and excellent staff. We highly recommend Thaison Hotel I and Golden Lotus Cruise at Halong Bay.

My family really enjoyed our stay at Thaison Hotel. Everything was much better than our expectation. Very good hotel and very good price and we are they will increase the price.
P/S: very good travel desk and you should book any trips via this hotel as it belongs to the biggest travel company in Hanoi.

8th floor large room-two views- quiet

Choose this hotel because of the high rating which is beyond my understanding after staying 7 days. Two days the elevator was broken and nobody apologized or anything and 8 floors was no easy feat.
Laundry took 2 days to get returned.
Bathroom was tiny and shower/bath as small as it gets.
Anyone could look into the room thru the separation between door and frame. Towels are dirty looking and bleach is obviously not used.
Breakfast was off the lobby in the 'tour department' and presentation was silly and awful. Went elsewhere for breakfast and should have done the same with laundry to get things pressed.
Hotel has NO curb appeal (Is this a hotel or travel agency?) and narrow space between sidewalk cycles makes unimpressive entrance.
Shopping Tip:
Left outside the hotel and across from the Mercedes Benz showroom is a bakery with the BEST hard cookies with dried fruit pieces. Not sweet small cookies which we like with a glass of red wine (And, maybe a piece or two of European chocolate!). Cost 30,000 dong ($1.50) and I bought during my 2 weeks Hanoi stay SIX bags! Worth the trip.
