Clean, large room, friendly, helpful staff, location

Taken to room that was not ready, but Nam quickly took care of the problem.

The Zephyr is a well-located hotel on the south side of Hoam Kiem Lake. Although the 8th floor lobby that was advertised was not available, it would have been too hot to side outside. The hotel has a cafe and the breakfast room is a quiet place to enjoy a mix of Western and Vietnamese food. I got to sit next to the waterfall wall each morning, which was an added bonus. The rooms are clean and mine was larger than I expected. I looked forward to the fresh fruit provided each day. I will stay there again if I return to Hanoi. The Zephyr exceeded my expectations.

Travel tip : The Water Puppet Theater is nearby.

The reception area was clean and sparkling, making a welcome change from the noise and dust of the streets. The staff were also welcoming and friendly.

Coming from Singapore where smoking is banned in all public places, it was a little hard to accept that smoking is allowed inside the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cute little hotel. We booked a suite so we had a balcony overlooking the Hoan Kiem Lake, and we were minutes away from this lake, a small supermarket, a bakery, and the touristy Old French Quarter. The room service menu food was also excellent - we ordered the Vietnamese salad rolls (like uncooked spring rolls) with almost every meal.

The hotel's location is excellent. Very convenient.

Their breakfast are OK but a bit on the simple side.

It was our first visit to Hanoi and the Zephyr was chosen after reading numerous reviews by previous customers. It's location is the best. It is just a stonethrow away from the lake, which is the centre point of the city. We could go to many places on foot, which was just what I wanted. We stayed on the top floor. The room was fairly large, clean and bright, and very comfortable. The staff is very helpful, and I very much appreciated their help in offering to go to the local market to buy the Vietnamese speciality "gio" for me to take home to my friends and family. I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks.

Restaurant Tip : The nice foods are to be found at tiny streetside stalls and not the fancy restaurants.
