YOu'll get surprise with your room
cheap, nice room and good location
9.3
We arrived at night and we got shocked with the location of the hotel because it is along the market. The hotel is not big and it is like a guesthouse. But when we entered our room, we felt like we were inside the hotel. The guy in the front desk is nice and approacable. We had a great stay in this hotel and the location is near Benh Than market.

Moderate location with reasonable price
Reasonalbe price and surrounded by market
6
Room is clean and big enough for couple to stay, this hotel surrounded by a market, restaurant, and shopping center. is about 15 minute walking distance to Ben Than market. This hotel just offer normal breakfast and just few choice like beef noodle soup, fired rice and fired noodle. There is one restaurant behind this hotel with plenty type of foods and most important with reasonable price, this restaurant provided english menu hence is easy to understand and order food.

small hotel - excellent location
basic but cozy, centrally located, easy access to all important aspects of District 1, close to River, just behind Bitexo Financial Tower - tallest building in HCM City

Had a pleasant stay at this small family hotel. Staff is young and accommodating. Rooms are basic, however well fitted and clean. Need to keep an eye/remind of daily service though.
Location is excellent, if however located in main market street.
Across from hotel is a school, so things get a little bit noisy from 7.30 am onwards until late afternoon. Try to avoid room 401 = facing the market/street and is like a gold fish bowl with curtains covering three glass walls - gets unbearably hot.
Breakfast in typical Vietnamese fashion is really not worth participating in, unless you decide to take the fried noodles (with meat and vegies) option and a pot of jasmin tea (coffee comes in a tiny cup)
Restaurant Tip:
Walk out of the hotel, turn left and at corner of Ham Nghia and Ton That Dam turn left again. On the next street corner is a great local deli/restaurant and Vietnamese-style baguette place. They also service lovely fresh smoothies.

central location - small family run hotel
ideal location for key parts of district 1 and 3
5.7
an tan 2 hotel is centrally located, close access to river, just one block from bitexco financial tower, tallest building in hcm city. it is one of 2 hotels run by same owner in same street. an tan 2 is listed on agoda as 74 ton that dam, unfortunately the building does not have hotel name signage, just a banner hanging outside promoting oasis spa. about four houses further down is another building or annex. however be aware that most rooms in that building have no windows. when i arrived, i was presented with a windowless room. after some arguments that i had indeed booked a room with a window, as shown on the agoda side, and specifically mentioned again in the add-on information on the booking sheet i was grudgingly taken back to no. 74 ton that dam and presented with room on top floor (lift only goes to level 3, then walk up a flight of stairs. unfortunately the shower only had extremely hot water and when turning tap to cooler water, only a trickly of water managed to come out, not enough to take a shower. managed to change rooms next day and then all worked out well.
young staff at front desk trying their best to be accommodating.
breakfast: in typical fashion for family run hotels, hardly recommendable. exception here is the fried noodle dish with bok choi and beef. forget about barely toasted bread and oil-fried egg (really sub-standard). vietnamese coffee comes in minute cups - better option is the jasmin tea (ask for pot - not just a cup).
because i stayed a few weeks, the staff became quite friendly and made the stay quite enjoyable.
Restaurant Tip:
Try Annam Gourmet Market on corner Hai Ba Trung and Dong Du for speciality shopping. Their cafe has the best coffee in town, they are reasonably priced and have a great deli as well.
Another great place to hang out for exceptionally good food is 'Zero' on Dong Du, near corner Hai Ba Trung. It is run by a friendly couple from Australia and New Zealand.
If you want to a place to hang out and network, try 'Xu' on Hai Ba Trung, opposite Annam Gourmet - look for the concrete wall (or else you miss it) - modern place, great ambiance.
