Clean and generally friendly.
Great location.
Rooms cleaned properly each day. 'brick' pillows.
Mini fridge use not monitored correctly Our stay at the Bong Sen Annex was good with a few exceptions.
The friendliness of most staff was very acceptable. Although the breakfasts were basic they were sufficient to ensure a good start to each day.
The two issues that we considered detrimental to our stay were [1]The allowance of some guests to smoke in the foyer and in the restaurant. At one stage I was confronting enough to ask a guest to 'butt out' or move away. Thankfully he complied.
The second [2] point was the way the hotel maintained a record of mini fridge use in our rooms. They didn't!! The cleaner merely assumed the water bottles in the room came from the fridge without checking, and reported the number to the front desk who then proceeded to demand payment. We did not use any fridge beverages [as is our normal procedure] The ensuing argument at the desk when trying to catch out taxi to the airport was a sour taste to leave on. We paid merely to get on with our journey
Restaurant Tip : An Indian restaurant close by.
Pho 24 noodle shop almost next door for a good lunch meal.

10 mins from airport. Central. Breakfast finishes at 9am This is the second time that we have stayed at the Bong Sen. We chose to stay here again as the hotel is a 10 min drive from the airport and then once you get there it is central to everything you need. Two mins one way and you are at the river and two mins the other you are in the thick of the shops, resturants and bars. It is also only a 10 min walk to the museums and places of interest. The reception staff are very helpful, however, their level of English is not top level, but enough for us to communicate with each other! We stayed in an Economy room, which had a double bed, balcony, seating and bathroom with tub, and also a mini-bar. We found the room to be very clean and comfortable. The worst thing about our stay is that breakfast is from 6.30-9.00, which, when on holiday is a bit early. However, if you do make the effort there is a good choice from the buffet and you can ask the chef for anything you like. The resturant is on the 7th floor and is quite pretty with a little outside eating area too. If we go back to Saigon, we will be staying at the Bong Sen again.

Excellent location.
Price.
Quiet. This hotel is located at the same street as Park Hyatt but cheaper per night - this is an excellent budget hotel with great location and is good priced. No glamor but a good budget hotel. The room was clean and we got a room without noise from the street. There are many good restaurants close by and.

My room was completely windowless - very unpleasant. The location of this hotel is excellent, but it is expensive for what you get. I paid twice as much for this room as for any other hotel room in Vietnam, and it was probably the worst room I had anywhere. It was clean, and all the facilities were fine, but the fact that the room had no window made it very unpleasant. The breakfast (included in the price) was quite good.
Restaurant Tip : Kinh Bac Restaurant, 30 D Dong Khoi, is excellent.

Welcoming attractive lobby, friendly courteous staff, good breakfast - plenty of variety, and central location.
Footpath outside not always easy to negotiate with building going on next door. Room had rather a shut-in feeling - smallish window. The Bong Sen Annex has more pluses than minuses. It's just off the main street so fairly quiet but certainly close to all the action, shopping, cafes etc. Very good value for money - cheap to eat in the cafe for dinner as at some local cafes and food was very tasty.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy walking to markets, Rex Hotel, notre dame cathedral etc.

Rooms a little small and somewhat dated This is a smart little hotel for those who want to be near the main high end shopping area and finer hotels and their restaurants in District 1 of HCMC. The staff is pleasant and buffet breakfast fine, only real complaint is that there's not much space in the room; although i only had a standard so other choices may be bigger. Anyways for the price it is a fairly smart choice.

Great location, clean and safe. Hotel was very comfortable and clean, bathroom was quite large and everything worked. We looked out onto the street and while only on the first floor didn't find the noise too bad. Staff great, front doormen very polite and made us feel very safe. Location is very central in District One and very easy to wonder out to shop, eat or sightsee.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Near Saigon River.

Write down what you want clearly on paper to avoid miscommunication.
Shopping Tip : Can walk to Lucky Plaza (Russian Market) at Dong Khoi. Also walking distance to Saigon Square (can ask the hotel reception counter for guideline). Very nice and cheap Bombay restaurant (halal food) opposite Sheraton. Also very nice and cheap curry food, just walk into the mosque next to Sheraton, pass the side of it and you will see the restaurant is just behind the mosque.

Nice calm environment and relaxing. Large spacious rooms. Lack of dining or sightseeing facilities nearby. The hotel staff was hospitable and security checks on incoming vehicles were imposed. Environment was relaxing and facilities within the hotel such as gym and swimming pool were also well managed. However, dining was quite a problem if guests wish to travel out for food or sightseeing. Although there was a shuttle bus, but its operation had limited hours.
Restaurant Tip : There is a Korean restaurant within walking distance that serves decent Korean food at reasonable price.

This hotel was very cost effect with a good location. The hot water was adequate. At night the room was quiet so there were no distractions. We will stay there again when we come back to Vietnam

Location in the center of town. The hotel is well located for shopping, sightseeing and eating in the center of town. The cathedral and opera house are in walking distance. The breakfast was simple but good. The rooms are not too spacious and could be better equipped. The staff is helpful arranging tours and excursions.
