the look of the hotel will never surprise you, especially when it's surrounded by a handful of european-style alternatives. however, everything inside does. one of the not-to-be-missed venue is the saigon saigon bar on 9/f where offers you a unparallel panaramic view of the city and beyond. my room, facing the saigon river, sketches a spectacular portrait of the different ambience of hcmc at daytime and nightime.

The hotel was right smack in the middle of the city. We welcomed the New Year in this hotel and the street party was near the hotel. The service was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable. They were very thoughtful to give us an adjoining room as we were a family of 4. I will definitely stay in this hotel again when i go to Ho Chi Minh.

We stayed at the Caravelle about 5 years ago and were so impressed by the club snacks that it became our benchmark for Club facilities. Having stayed at the intercontinental Asiana as well this time in Ho chi Minh the Intercontinental exceeded this. The Caravelle however is in a prime position and was wonderful to pop out and experience the New Years eve action in the street. The room was a good size but passage carpets are getting a bit in need of replacement.

Restaurant Tip:
We could have continental breakfast late morning only in our hotel. All other cafes and hotels were closed till lunch time.

Large hotel (with swimming pool) in great location

We picked this hotel as it was cheaper than the other five star hotels in this part of the city, and got great reviews. We weren't disappointed, the rooms were clean and well serviced and it was lovely to use the pool to cool down and get out of the hectic city. The staff at reception were also very helpful and efficient. We did not eat here as the restaurant and bar seemed expensive, but the location is within easy walking distance of lots of restaurants so this was not a problem. Reading some of the reviews of other cheaper hotels, quite a few spoke of rooms smelling of cigarette smoke and dirty sheets, so we were pleased we spent the extra to ensure our room was clean and comfortable at the Caravelle.

Stayed 4 nights in deluxe room. Enjoyed hotel comfort, free internet in room, great pool/ fitness and superb location. Saigon Saigon bar /club on 9th floor great fun and all hotel staff helpful and friendly.
