Friendly and staff who could understand and converse in English. Great food and nice, clean room.

Professional & Friendly staff. Clean and well maintained room (deluxe), breakfast was great with a lot of choices and it varies everyday. The Bar/lounge is relaxing after a full day of touring as it's got a live musician: pianist/violinist.

good location

expensive internet

with a central location the Duxton Hotel in Ho Chi Minh is worth the stay. It has a good atmosphere with a bar in the foyer having a piano player there each day around lunch time. the staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. It is walking distance to the markets and War museum and if you need a taxi some where the hotel calls a reputable company that costs about half the price of getting a taxi on the street.

Staff where excellent, Rooms good, Business Centre good

Needed to print a voucher to get room because booked on internet,

Our visit to the hotel was overall excellent, we enjoyed the facilities including the Restraunt, bar, Business centre, Gym. The Hotal is located conveniently in the city and the programed upgrades where not noticable from a noise point of view. The staff where always helpful and happy to assist in all maters we had, air conditioning was effective and quiet and bed side electronic room control effective. Overall we had an excellent stay and look forward to coming again during our next visit

Hotel Feature Tip : Organise pick ups and drop off at air port through the Hotel

Excellent location, very good staff, very good restaurant and spa.

The Hotel could be better maintained. The carpet in our room needed a good vacuuming, even replaced as it is old.

Location is very good for Saigon. Rooms are large, spacious and comfortable, however could do with a good spring clean. The breakfast buffet is very good as is the spa. Highly recommended for a short break in Saigon.

central location, good food

expensive internet, we stayed at cheaper hotels who offered this for free

A friend and myself stayed at the duxton in HCMC for 4 nights all up.THe food in the restaurant was amazing with a large selection to choose from. It had a nice atmosphere with a piano player in the foyer bar everyday. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. The hotel is in a good location, within walking distance to most things, if you cant walk somewhere a taxi costs next to nothing

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Stick to using the taxis that are at the hotel if you can, they are about half the price of some others that u get on the street

Clean, quiet rooms available, breakfast buffet was excellent with western and asian choices, close walking distance to major sights in HCMC, good gym facility

Bathroom clean but shower/bath needs an upgrade

We enjoyed our short stay here for 2 nights. It was within close walking distance of the common HCMC sights, including restaurants, museums, shopping, and the markets. Hotel staff was very helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with a variety of fresh fruit, breads, rice porridge, pho, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, and more! Variety would change daily. Bedding was good with firm mattress, although our "king" was actually 2 twins put together so you could feel the middle crease. Bathrooms were very clean, a bit awkward in the shower which would leak out the sides if not carefully angled, and had a big slippery step into and out of the tub. Tour packages available through the hotel were of good quality, but very expensive. Gym facilities were being upgraded during our stay.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you walk out of the hotel and go left 2 short blocks, you get to Ton That Thiep Street, which has several nice restaurants/lounges. Dong Khoi Street for shopping and restaurants is also very close, without feeling like you are in the noisy part of the city. This hotel is very close to the more well-known hotels like the Majestic, Park Hyatt, Caravelle and Sheraton, but a bit quieter.

- good breakfast - friendly staffs - good location

- no free internet - room condition can be further imporved eg. carpet stain

Considered a good choice for a reasonably good hotel right down town. Especially when it comes with good breakfast. Walking distance to many central attraction eg. market, old town, R. Hall, Theater and many others. Planty of restaurant around and also not too far from the backpacker area to look for cheap tours around the country. Would certainly stay there again.

Fantastic location and generally good service

Room is getting old!

This is my third time back at the hotel for a business trip to Vietnam. The hotel is definitely experiencing some wear and tear but in general, I still find the location very convenient and the overall service is still excellent. The front desk staff as well as the concierge are very helpful. If you are looking for a luxurious hotel, then the hotel is not in the same league. However, if you are looking for a four star hotel with good accommodation, excellent location, then it is worthwhile to consider.

Best location, and good service.

Price is a little bit higer.

Good service. During my 3-night stay in Duxton, I changed 3 rooms. At the first night, I can hear outside building construction noisy. Then I change a room on the 2nd day..., but the room's bed face the wind of air-con, which is bad to my health. Then I move again on the 3-night. It's good. At Duxton, they will do their best to service customers.

The Duxton is in a great location; close to the main shopping attractions, river and markets. The service is excellent with very helpful staff and the rooms are functional and clean. Ironing board and iron provided (nowhere else in Vietnam did I find this... not even in five star hotels/resorts)

small pool but you don't stay in HCMC for the pool life. That's what Nha Trang and Cua Dai are for.

We stayed at the Duxton on our last night in Vietnam, so it was really just for 'somewhere to sleep' before our flight the next day. Earlier in our trip we had stayed at the Majestic in HCM, and I feel the Duxton is much better value. Whilst it is only a 4 star hotel, I could not tell the difference between it and the Majestic's 5 star rating. We could have saved a couple of hundred dollars and stayed at the Duxton instead of the Majestic and not felt we had 'missed out' on anything. Strongly recommended as an excellent four star option in a very convenient location.

Shopping Tip : The block behind the hotel is the 'gaming & dvd' block; we found it by mistake on our last day. If you are after cheap games and dvd's (not pirated copies) then make sure to check out this area.

It is in a really good location, our room was really nice

The swiming pool was not that big and the gym was very small also.

We were on honeymoon and stayed two nights at the Duxton Hotel. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful and were really helpful on where to go. Our room was on the 9th floor with a good view of the city. Our room had a super king bed and the room was very clean and comfortable. They had wrote a lovely message and given us a bowl of complimentary fruit for our honeymoon. We were in a really good location and right beside all the good bars. The buffett breakfast in the morning was really good, there was a very good selection of food. Also in the evening they would a guy playing a piano in the piano bar which was lovely after coming in from a long day of touring around! We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and it was at a really good price!

great locaton. friendly staff. good buffet breakfast

rooms getting a little bit tired. pool area not very good.

the hotel is in a great location. staff were friendly and helpful and a very good buffet breakfast is included. overall the hotel is showing signs of it's age and good do with some renovations. carpets shoddy and dirty etc. overall a good hotel but if you have the time to shop around then I think you could probably get a getter hotel for about the same price. no problem with the hotel in general but believe a little bit over proceed for what you get. Pool area is not very attractive at all and for a hotel of this rating and price this was disappointing. yes, would recommend to others.

friendly staff, nice rooms, good breakfast

window in room did not close properly....fairly noisy during night

I stayed in the Duxton Hotel for 1 week and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a good hotel. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Also I did not feel there was a language barrier as all staff spoke fairly good English. The only downfall was the small bar in the hotel, located just opposite the reception. Although the staff was very friendly I did not feel like staying there for a long time. However, there are many nice bars to choose from just round the corner, so the lack of a good hotel bar is not too bad. The hotel is located near the city centre and near all the shops (Dong Khoi and Ben Thanh market) and all locations are easily reached on foot, once you get over the fear of crossing the streets! The hotel also offers a small swimming pool which seems fine if you want a quick dip after a long day of sightseeing and shopping.

Hotel Feature Tip : ATM mashine located on first floor of Hotel was a plus as well as the money exchange at the front desk

smart hotel situated in good location

the pool didn't get sun all day

This was our last hotel of a two week holiday in vietnam so we decided to treat ourselves to somewhere more expensive. We only stayed one night. Very smart, effecient hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Good gym which seemed to be empty and a small pool on the side of the hotel. Didn't seem to sun all day but we weren't really there for the sunbathing! Breakfast is really good.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : As we had an evening flight home we check out in the morning then used the gym showers to freshen up at the end of the day. Tour desk sell the more luxury tours and there are cheaper ones available in ho chi min (either locally or in the backpacker area) - but obviously you will pay for what you get!

Located at center of city center, great service mind of floor staff, porter, receptions and housekeeping. Worth the price for business trip as hotel is set up to modern style and internet service at minimal charge. I feel secure and comfort to stay here.

Breakfast was limited and not exciting. Get bored after 2 days. Breakfast room is dull and small considering number for guests during weekend. Swimming pool wasn't clean. It's size is too small to swim which was a pity for those who wants to relax/do a lite exercise. No boiling machine in the room and no tea/coffee. No wall outlet type to use with hair dryer in the room itself. I tried the outlet in bathroom, it did not work for hairdryer.

Great location, right in the city center. Walking distance to landmark places such as Uncle Ho monument, Opera House, Rex Hotel, and Saigon Square which is a great shopping place that no one should miss if you want bags and outfits for your holidays. Saigon river can be seen from rooms on back side of building. Eating is easy around the hotel for sandwiches, cafe, and local food restaurants. Walking to premium shopping street is only 5 minutes away. Bookstore and exchange service can be found near hotel. Taxi is also easy to find. If you love to walk, you can access Ben Thann Market, Saigon Square, Premium shopping mall, ice cream, cafe, outdoor dining, stylish Vietnamese restaurants, and a lot more, on foot. It was a great relaxing time after work for me. Only 2 things I would like Duxton to improve is the breakfast menu and swimming pool. I hope the hotel serve pho in the morning and have bigger dinning room. Bigger swimming pool will be great 25m. length will be perfect.

Shopping Tip : Duxton is surrounded with shopping and dining places. When you get out from hotel, turn left at main street and walk toward Sunwah building, you can enjoy outdoor dining. Walk further to a road behing Sunwah, you will find a Buddha House restaurant and pub. It has nice design. Further toward this direction for 2 blocks and you will reach Saigon Square for clothes and bags shopping. Toward this direction, you will reach Ben Thanh market. If you love Vietnamese food, take opposite direction. Start from hotel and heading forward to Renaissance hotel, you find authentic VN restaurants line along the street. Recommend mushroom hotpot.
