The hotel was comfortable and cosy. It felt heart warming and good to snuggle up. It had so many cable TV channels, that made it so good to stay in.

The hotel over all has not shown any areas of dislike.

The hotel had friendly and helpful staff. The rooms and toilet were clean and comfortable to stay in.The best part of all was the television with so many cable channels to choose from and it just spoilt you for choices. The hotel is situated about 2 km away from the main town center and it was a pleasureable walk back and forth for shopping and food.

Shopping Tip : It has excellent shopping at walking distance and wear good shoes as there is alot of walking to be done. We had to stop and buy sports shoes for the wife as her heels was killing her feet.

good location, nice and clean rooms, helpful staff

rooms are small

The hotel staff were helpful and efficient. Arriving at past 1:00 a.m., we were checked-in and in our room in 5 minutes. Our room, a Junior Suite, looked like it had been recently renovated. However, the room, although a suite, was about the size of, or possibly smaller than, a standard hotel room. But if all you need is a place to sleep at the end of the day then it's perfectly fine. The breakfast buffet spread was limited, but they do offer Western and Vietnamese choices. Don't miss the baguettes! It's a bit of a walk from the hotel to the main tourist attractions, but taxis are readily available.

Friendly and courteous staff. Good location in district one. Comfortable rooms.

None

I really enjoyed my stay here at "The Empress". I recommend anyone to stay here. The staff are courteous and helpful, the rooms comfortable and nicely furnished. Good comfortable size bed and TV with good selection of international channels. The shower room is large with good selection of complimentary toiletries. The hotel can also arrange wi-fire connection in the bedroom too which was a great plus. Breakfast is good with a selection of European or Vietnamese dishes. I had dinner here too on a couple of nights and the food was excellent.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : In the heart of district one, close to all the sights. For those who wish to be away from the "tourist ghetto, the hotel is ideally located.

The staff was very friendly

tiny room and not the best location

We stayed here during Tet, so there was not available at the time. The staff was very friendly and helpful, but the room was very small and noisy. We were able to walk to town, but walking in Saigon is a challenge. We were able to find better hotels right in the heart of the city. The breakfast was not very good. I hate to sound so negative, but we were able to find much better places to stay.

Polite helpful staff. "Andy" the night manager has a great command of English. Walking distance to Market etc.

What ever you do men, don't tell your wife about the huge bug that lives in the air conditioner. I learned the hard way.

Great hotel for price point. It is tricky finding a quiet hotel in Saigon (OK,..Vietnam) but this was one of the quieter hotels we stayed at. Day time doorman is rather eager to help you find a cycle tour but he isn't as pushy as most of the touts. Breakfast in the sports bar was good enough and usually entertaining.

Travel tip : Always carry a map!

Location was ok and on the cheaper scale. Room was clean.

Small Rooms, extremely Noisy. Not only from the traffic but loud speaker at 5am.

We booked this as a budget hotel and while it was on the cheaper side of thing, we thought the standard was below average. Very small rooms, staff not very friendly and breakfast very basic. It did have a few weights in the gym and the room although dated was clean. I don't think we would stay there. We have one more night in HCMC and have decided to go a bit more upmarket.

Shopping Tip : It has great access to The Ben Thanh markets.

Good service and excellent breakfast. Very kind staff.

The bedroom lights are too dim.

The service was quite good and the breakfast at the restaurant was also quite excellent The staff were very kind. The hotel is within walking distance to some of the major attractions in Vietnam..... as well as tour agencies. There are many restaurants near by. The part is near by too. We were able to do a lot of shopping at the Ben Than market.

good location and clean place!

breakfast buffet improve.

This hotel is quite small however, it had a warm feel to it and it was very neat and clean. We actually stayed in two different rooms the first one was bigger than the 2nd one for the same price which a little disappointing. However it is in a great location right near all facilities and the liveliness of ho chi minh city. It is only a 2min taxi ride from cho ben thanh. The service was good very good.

Restaurant Tip : There are many good dining places to go to around the hotel.

Quite near china town and Ben Thinh market

Facilities poorly maintained

My family and I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. On check into Junior suit room I found the table light and the CD radio not working. The staff delivering our luggage just said they are spoilt. During shower when I want to hang the shower head on the holder it just drop off as the screw was rusty. There is little lighting in the room and it is very dark. The traffic near the hotel is very heavy and we feel unsafe to cross any road. However the reception staff are quite friendly

In the middle of the city, nice staff, clean, valuable.

a bit noisy (from traffic).

A nice clean Hotel in the middle of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Very Valuable, With a nice and helping staff. The breakfast was both Vietnamese and continental type (buffet). The intense traffic outside the Hotel could be a problem. Be sure to book a room situated away from the street. Cleaning was of satisfaction. In the future it would be great with Internet connection as well.
