great spot, nice rooms but the noise is bad.

we were very pleased with this hotel until about 5 am every morning! unfortunately the sound proofing is pretty bad. could hear every step the cleaners made, chairs scraping, even though on the 9th floor the traffic noise was high and so was the rooster on the balcony over the road!!.having said that if your a heavy sleeper the rest of the experience was good. nice rooms, very clean, good location very helpful staff, great breakfast, the best of our trip. the pool area on the roof is lovely and the pool water was nice and cool.

impressive hotel near the market

the size of this hotel (in vietnamese standards) is prettty impressive. buffet breakfast has pho and vietnamese coffee which are pluses.
staff were really helpful, and took care of hailing us a cab all the time.
the market is just around the corner, so are fruit stands, some restaurants
Travel tip:
we booked a tour in the hotel caodai and cuchi tunnels, i'd advise you to book elsewhere (try the travel agency next door or across the street). our tour cost around dhong. lunch excluded. we were 10 tourists in a van, excessively bumpy, no suspension system. I even banged my head once. it was a very uncomfortable ride.
cao dai temple is nice enough but it took 2-3hrs to get there and we only stayed for 30mins. cu chi tunnel is of better value. lunch was in some local store. lunch fee was excluded from the tour payment, but when we asked for the menu, the owner smiled and brought out food (from a prearranged set menu we didnt know about). it was horrible food. cost around 580,000 dhong too.
advice: get a tour in a coaster or bus. insist on authentic viet food for lunch.

loved this hotel

i will definitely be coming back to this hotel when i visit ho chi minh city next. the hotel is still new and the rooms are clean and of a good size. breakfast in the morning was also fantastic!
i did not get round to checking out the pool or the gym but may do that on the next visit.
unlike most hotels, this place had 2 lifts and so the wait times were not too long. the best aspects of this hotel were the staff. they were very tentative and always keen to help. there was some confusion with the way we had booked the rooms (as we had booked several and also cancelled one), they kept us entertained with refreshments whilst they helped to resolve the issues. they were also kind to suggest easting venues and to also make reservations.
the hotel also provides a transfer service at a competitive rate.

I would definitely stay at Grand Silverland again. The room was lovely, and welcome fruit was a nice touch. The rates were very affordable. Staff were friendly in all aspects.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very close to the markets. you could shop, go back to the hotel to cool off and go back shopping.

the hotel is very nice. i like the location. it is very close to the market place and to the most other attraction. my room had a window but unfortunately no view, but since i spend there only 3 nights that was not really a problem. i really liked swimming pool. it is very, very small but convenient to spend some minutes to relax and have a great night or day view from top floor. you feel very safe in hotel and the staff is always there for you for any kind of help. the breakfast was great and the last day before my flight i tried the vietnamese massage and i was very satisfied as well.

staff were very professional & helpful, the rooms were clean & spacious. housekeeping were great & fast, my room was always immaculate. the hotel location is very central & it is easy to walk to shopping, restaurants & sight seeing. the tour desk staff were always available & very helpful. i would stay at this hotel again without hesitation & i would recommend it very highly to my family & friends, and anyone who is planning a trip to ho chi minh city. as a solo female traveller who does not want to stay at hostels, this hotel provided everything i needed for a very pleasant stay.

The hotel is in a good location, district 1. The room was very clean couldnt fault anything with the room. The pool is on the 10 th floor and it's small with not many deck chairs. The breakfast was pretty basic with not much variety The service was outstanding. The staff all spoke English ,friendly and just couldn't do enough for u. That's the selling point of the hotel. Would go back

Great location (just opposite Ben Than market).
Good service, the staffs are very friendly and helpful.
However, the room was small with very basic feature. Poor facility and the breakfast wasn't that great. We got the room without window/ view and just opposite the lift, can hear a lot of noises from outside. If you dont spend a lot of time in the hotel room, this hotel is suitable for you due to the superb location (within walking distance to a lot of attraction within District 1).
Shopping Tip:
Bargain hard, 50% from the original price.
I highly recommend the vietnamese massage at Mekong Bliss Spa @ pasteur st District 1. Try Pho2000 next 1 block after Meking Bliss Spa.
