Poor Back of house staff
A pleasant hotel well situated in Ho Chi Minh City. The breakfast was very good and both the reception and the dining room staff were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the free afternoon tea provided each day. I was not impressed with the standard of cleaning in my room. The floor was never swept in the five days I was there. I ignored this as it was only a few small pieces of paper but for the last two days there was a large amount of biscuit crumbs left beside the bin. I had put a biscuit pit in the bin and the maid had spelled crumbs etc and didn't make any attempt to clear them. I did report this to reception on my last evening but said to leave it then as I was packing. I also had a slight issue with laundry. They messed up pressing items and also attempted to overcharge me though reception sorted that out. Finally most of the rooms on Agoda do not have a window. Rooms are a mustard colour with poor lighting for reading etc though most people who are out of the room in the evening should not find that a problem. All in all although public areas are very smart I do not feel that this hotel compares favourably with the three other four star hotels I have stayed in in Vietnam although it was considerably more expensive

Fantastic stay
I absolutely loved staying at the Grand Silverland Hotel & Spa. When I first arrived, the staff welcomed me and helped me up the main staircase carrying my luggage. I was taken to the seated area in the lobby and received a complimentary welcome drink, plus information about when breakfast would be served, complimentary afternoon tea, pool hours etc. The staff were so pleasant, they even provided me with a free room upgrade. My room was fantastic - a sizable room with an incredibly large King sized bed, minibar, flat screen TV and a jacuzzi in the shower. The pool, deck, bar and restaurant are located on level 10, with fantastic views across the entire city. My only comment would be - get a sunbed early - there's not many to choose from. The best part about the hotel was the location - 2 minutes to the market, 10 minutes to the War museum, plus many more well known locations (including the Rex Hotel, Chill Skybar, the backpacker area & more)! Definitely recommend staying here - I would stay here again.

We stayed here on the first two nights of our honeymoon and were incredibly pleased with the hotel. The facilities were fantastic and the staff faultless. We had problems booking our flights on to Nha Trang, but the concierge sorted this out for us quickly and with no fuss. If you have time, do the street food bike tour booked through the hotel!
